Hey guys!,

I'm having problems with my fans. They're only getting like 1500-1700 rpm when i set them to 100% in cgminer.
They used to reach 3000rpm+ but as of today they aren't

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Update:, it seems the fan speeds sometimes jumps to the normal speed (around 3000rpm) for a few min on one of the cards but then goes back after a while..

No one has a clue why 1 GPU is getting lower Fan speeds than the other? GPU 0 is at 3k RPM, GPU 1 is at 1500 RPM. Have both set at 100% fan speed..

I have got a few of these and the dropping fanspeed is a sign for a failing fan. After 2 months of mining the card cant spin the fans anymore because of resistance inside the fan. 70% of my cards do that.

It is because the lubricant msi uses is not the best or it dissipates in time. But you can refill it. You just have to remove the 3 screws of the fan, turn it 90 degrees and pluck the fan from its bottom part, be  careful you need a little bit of force, but they are just sticked together. From the upper part there is a stick in the middle, put one drop of oil on it and it runs like new again. Worked for me everytime.
