Live CD entropy

Does a typical Linux live CD distro have enough entropy to generate a secure bitcoin private key? Is this something we should worry about?

a Linux Live CD does not have any entropy.

The linux kernel collects entropy at runtime, from mouse movements, keyboard timing, network events and so on.

So dont worry.

If you are really paranoid you can for example feed the entropy generator white noise from your sound card, but this is overkill for pretty much everything.

Randomsound is a program that does exactly this, and many (most?) LiveCDs do, in fact, use it. It's not overkill at all.
