This move by the vendors will definitely help to promote more awareness to the general public and promote more usage of btc to both the crypto users and none crypto adopters. This steps in a way reduce the complexity and the fees that will incur for transaction.

It is a very interesting thing, but there are a lot of disadvantages, so let's see how it will show itself.

This is cheering news and the business world will surely jump at it. This will also increase the adoption of bitcoin for business payment within and around Singapore. Good news.

Actually there are already tens of thread with same news try to use search option before creating new thread with similar topic.

It is more like a cold wallet without full control over your private key but its reusable so I loved the concept.

This was a pretty badly written article and I think it is just some story for Tangem, the company that is releasing the notes. It says the company is sharing it's code.

What special code do you need to generate a paper wallet?? Nothing which isn't already open source. It then goes on to explain that it is basically an NFC enables, USB shaped device. Just doesn't sound right.

The utility of such a "banknote" too is limited as one could as easily carry around a mobile for this. If the "banknote" wasn't fixed in denomination but allowed you to transfer funds securely from a cold wallet, that would be an idea to be excited about.

While it is not entirely clear how this will all look and whether it will work well, it is still good news for the development of the bitcoin infrastructure. I hope people do not stop there.

Wow. This is a huge step for Singapore to start circulating Bitcoin bank notes. People there will be aware now about Bitcoin since now it has it's physical form. This is a good start of evolution of cryptocurrency. For now, they are just producing 10,000 bank notes. It's quite small compare to the amount of users there. But still good for them. I think it's the easiest way to promote Bitcoin. By circulating this bank notes, many people will notice it and hopefully become popular as money in the future and many countries will follow soon. I hope it's not just a rumor.

It is a very interesting thing, but there are a lot of disadvantages, so let's see how it will show itself.

That's what i like to see. They said that they are hinging a hardware on a samsung chip. The hardware has the entire electronics and cryptography certified to the common criteria EAL6+ and EMVCo security standards.
