You need to continue to make quality posts to attain merits from other forum users to advance to the next rank. If you are able to get 10 merits you can move from Jr member to member rank.

Yes, merit is the primary limiting factor for rising the ranks in the forum. For it, you should be able to attract interest of people that provide merit. That can be done by posting quality post and replies.

Now everyone writes that merits can be obtained for significant and interesting posts that are of use. I just had to become a Member, when the merit system was introduced and I remained a Jr. Member. But I was lucky, I received the cherished ten merits, when I was actively indignant because of this and wrote many posts. But at that time the merits were only distributed to everyone and it was easier to get them.

Try to read this first.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0
You must be aware of this rules about merits. Try to read sometimes at Meta sections where all rules about this forum are posted. It's very hard to receive merits. So try your best to make your posts useful and helpful to others. I saw some of your posts. Seems you have to make some improvements on your posting. Some of them are 1 liners that doesn't make any sense(sorry). My tips how to get merits is go create interesting topics or tutorials. Tutorials are good source of merit in my opinion. I'll give example https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4541732.0
It will give you all the elements that you need to make an interesting topic and get some merits from it. Hope it helps you.

That the point how merits come to us:

So try your best to make your posts useful and helpful to others.

I collect a bit merits so far (21) since merits system exists. But most of my received merits come from my post on the technical board (Altcoin [mining]) that the most mastered by me. You will felt "hard to get merits" while you want to receive it.

Just forget about merits (merits is nothing) and keep posting on the things that you mastered the most, keep spread positive things, be useful and merits will come to you.

It's so hard to earn merit.. I just wish they would be a little bit more lenient when it comes to being able to earn merits. Because of the new system, so many people are stuck with Jr. member rank and cannot move forward anymore. Almost no one nowadays give merits.
