So, does that mean the guy can see our IP, etc.?
Not necessarily (although I don't know for sure) - but when Microsoft finds out, I'm pretty sure these keys will be disabled. I received nothing, not even a refund, for the 0.15 BTC I paid.
I can see some people received their keys, those should also be linked to his/her account... right? |

Me too having MSDN since 5 to 6 years, but never heard of Microsoft busting anyone for sharing MSDN keys. All the keys can be activated from 5 to 10 times (depending upon the product). And the license activation number can be extended by talking to MSDN support. they extend the number till 10 more. By taking this into consideration, MSFT is no more interested in catching the scams. |

Bitcoin is considered a currency in some places, but I can see where you are going with that. I guess it's illegal to exchange keys for BTC in places where BTC is considered a currency? |

This is illegal, as you likely already understand. The Bitcointalk forum is probably not an appropriate place to make obvious illegal offers. (At least the OP pretended like he thought it was legal). Just as a reminder, if you've followed Robert Faiella's case in the news, making an illegal offer in a public forum visible to the whole internet, where the evidence is available to anyone who cares to save it, selling something that can be positively traced back to you, is probably an unwise long-term career strategy. |
Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable. I never believe them. If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins. I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion. Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice. Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.
