I run a contract mining site and I'm considering offering some extra space (U's) in my racks that isn't being used at the moment. I know there are some home miners out there with high power bills, uncooled rooms, spotty power/internet that could probably make use of my extra rack space.

A few obstacles I see are trust, transportation to the datacenter, (damage/insurance), and me worrying about someone else's property. Other than that it could be profitable for me and offer a decent service to help home miners out for a little BTC in return.

Terrible idea or worth pursuing?

We've offered this kind of service for a while (alongside our existing colocation services), but datacenter quality power + cooling doesn't come cheap. Around here (Portland, Oregon), power costs us upwards of ~$0.60 KW/h in the datacenter.
