I got myself some computer gear and set out to mine dogecoin through a pool. After many a struggle, I got it up and running only to find that the Kh/s is so low that it would take me a month to mine just one dogecoin - let alone a block!

My processor is Intelcore I7 - 3.40 Ghz - 16 GB - Win32 - Graphic card is AMD Radeon R9 280

My settings somewhere is incorrect as otherwise I should be getting a whole more than the 63 Kh/s my computer is clocking right now. Can someone kindly help tune up my setting. Thank.

Given below is the readings on my PC:

Your intensity is 9. Try changing it to 15 or 18.. e.g.  "-I 18" in the command line..  You should easily get 650K.

I have another problem with this pool though.. While my miner shows 650K, the pool only shows 30-50K. E.g. I don't find many shares with it.

For some reason this seems to be valid for ypool.net as well (only Dogecoin).

For now my fix is to mine TAG or NET (which give me the correct rate).

Your hashrate is way too low for R9 280...

According to https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison, You may try "-I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-powertune 20".

Your intensity still seems to be 8, try changing it to 18. Tongue

thats no good. Set intensity to 13 , you have to many hardware errors, also take out the GPU engine and memclock line if that is already their, set TC to 8192, power tune to 20

Intensity is pretty important so try to set it to 19

Hi Scriptio,
Apparently the -I 18 is slightly too high for your 280, so you can tune it: reduce it by 1 until you see that the HW:0 does not go up any more.
I also see that your GPU is running very cool (52 deg C) so once you are done tuning for the optimum Intensity (probably around 15) and you see the WU numbers go in the hundreds instead of a paltry 30/min, then you can start Overclocking if you want to get the maximum hash rate from your card and you do not mind it using more power and having a louder fan.
Success!

Does anyone know why a pool's website would show the opposite hash rate of the mining software, in this case, CGMiner and a Dogecoin pool~

Some people are so poor ALL they have is money
