So I just got this damn 200-220Gh/s Avalon miner I ordered. Seller didn't tell me it came with this damn chinese plug or w/e it is.

The listing states it is 110v/220v operation, so after I spend all day trying to get a US style plug for a computer PSU. This in theory means I should just be able to plug it in to the PSU and wall and get going right ?

The ass end that sticks in to the PSU looks how you'd expect it to, and so does the other end except the pins that would otherwise go in to the wall plug are "boxed" in. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that what would otherwise be the ground pin is flat like the others and that the three pins are extremely close.

Actually, I just looked again and the part that looks like it would go in the wall is a mirror of the port on the PSU so I can take both ends of the plug and snap em in to each other so it looks like that snake that eats it's own tail.

This is all that's on it.

It's on a white sticker wrapped around the funny end of the plug.

Edit: Sellers refunding a few bucks to go out and get a power cord but he said that's all I need. Still worried what'll happen though when I plug it in lol

I did notice one weird thing, this unit has an IP sticker on the back of it. Why might this be since AFAIK, any device when hooked up to the internet via router, switch etc. is auto assigned IP's.

Maybe because he used a static address to find them easier.. you should continue to use it if it's still valid and you're router is on the same subnet

I don't this often but I read that and literally LMFAO... but it is an idea lol. I think the last thing I stole was a butterfinger from 7-11 when I was like 15/16 (32  now).

So this things noisy as fuck which I can live with but now I feel like I wasted my god damn money.

Was reading this since it's the link the link the seller gave me. All seemed to be going well, then I got in to the network tab to change the IP stuff. Well, apparently I accidentally hit Unmanaged and saved and now I can't get back in to the damn thing. When I visit the IP address, I get he black screen with the LuCI line of text and then nothing.

So is this thing freakin bricked now ?

Apparently it has some form of an rPi board. If I could somehow factory reset it I might be ok, I did notice next to the ethernet there's a mini USB port w/e it's used for.

Sounds good, let me know how you fair.

The SSH server should also be enabled if you can still access the device.

Just ssh as root with the password I provided earlier.   Beware, though, root access CAN brick the machine if not used correctly.
