Welcome to another quick roundup of what’s been going on at Effect.AI. Last week, we successfully launched our private beta of Effect Force. As usual, we’ve also been involved with various meetups, conferences, etc. in the blockchain and AI spaces.
Effect Force private betaBack in May, we opened the pre-registration for Effect Force, our decentralized microtask platform. Several thousand of our early supporters signed up, and from this group we randomly selected over 600 people to perform tasks on Effect Force in order to test the platform.
While we were of course excited and optimistic about this release, we had no idea how amazing the response from our early testers would be. We limited workers to 500 tasks per day in order to give everyone a chance to complete some tasks. Despite this, they classified all 200,000 images in under 48 hours, which was much quicker than we expected.
We also collected some really detailed feedback that the team is already working to incorporate for our next release. Users had some great suggestions regarding features and usability. Many of these overlapped with ideas our team were already working on, so it was great to have our thoughts immediately validated by the user feedback.
As promised, we will release another batch of images from our partner Lobster.Media in the next few weeks once these improvements have been implemented.
The social impact of decentralizationA key part of our vision at Effect.AI is to empower people with limited economic opportunities through Effect Force. This week, Chris and Piet (our CEO and COO, respectively) traveled to meet with officials in Tbilisi, Georgia to talk about the potential of setting up a Social Impact Hub. These meetings bring us a step closer to creating a safe environment where people have an alternative way of making a living through Effect Force. Workers will also be guided to develop skills and knowledge, thus opening up better opportunities for themselves. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months as this develops.
Huobi summit, AI-Blockchain Expo, and RISE Hong KongOur good friends at the digital asset exchange Huobi recently hosted a summit in Amsterdam. Huobi is seeking to expand in the European market and they are looking to build strong partnerships in key locations such as Amsterdam. Effect.AI CEO Chris was asked to assist the Huobi team by hosting an entertaining panel on Quant Trading. The overall event was a big success and we got to meet some really interesting people in the Amsterdam crypto trading community.
The following day, Effect.AI was invited to showcase Effect Force to the 20,000 attendees of the AI-Blockchain Expo in Amsterdam. The Expo is very tech driven, which allowed for great contact with people doing incredibly interesting work in the field of AI and machine learning. We set up a demo version of Effect Force where people could earn EFX on the spot by performing some simple microtasks. We had a great time meeting everyone and were really pleased with the positive response.
Finally, next week our events team will head to Hong Kong to attend RISE, Asia’s biggest tech conference. The RISE organizers have selected us for their startup showcase, which means that we’ll be able to again put Effect Force in front of thousands of fellow startup entrepreneurs, technologists, and investors. Attending RISE is a part of Effect.AI’s larger strategy of expanding into the growing Asian market.
