My goal with this project is to create a E-Sports exclusive betting site with a forum/chat room for players to discuss upcoming events and matches.

What I am capable of:
- Site Hosting
- Forum Creation/Design + Chat room
- Website Design + Graphics
- Advertising/PR (to a certain degree, could still use a bit of help)

What I am looking for:
- A programmer that could assist me in creating a script for the site or some sort of automation aspect
- Possible business partners with either experience in these types of sites or connections in e-sports in general
- General advice and criticism

I am currently in the process of gathering a team of people for a possible e-sports news page on the site. I know that there are many ways to get e-sports news, but my goal of this page would be to bring information that analyzes various teams and players to help the users make decisions if they are not too familiar with upcoming events.

Currently working on the site design at the moment. Should be finished before this weekend and will initially include League of Legends and Starcraft 2 for now.
Any opinions/advice/criticism is greatly appreciated and I will be able to respond fairly fast as well.

Do you have the bankroll to finance a sportsbetting site?

Do you have the bankroll to finance a sportsbetting site?

I know this may sound stupid, but what would I need funding for other than people to make scripts?

Do you not understand how a "betting site" works?

We may have different Ideas in mind.

My idea is that players would bet against eachother, for example:

$50 worth of btc bet by USERS for team A
$100 worth of btc bet by USERS for team B

And based on how much each individual user bets, they will get a certain percentage based on the outcome of the game and their odds. I will also take a small fee for profitability of course.

Yeah that's like half of what a sportsbook is.  The goal is to get the money perfectly balanced on both sides and just take the vig, but you have to be prepared for lopsided betting.  If your goal is to try to find people wanting to bet the exact same amounts against each other, you'll get zero action.

I understand what you mean. I am not planning on this site becoming instantly popular, just want to start small at first.

It being small will ensure that no bets would be processed since it decreases the likelihood that people will be on at the same time wanting to make exactly opposite bets.

Well I mean, we obviously would have plans to grow, but we have to start somewhere.

BTW: just noticed we have same # of posts
