Could start a petition to remove the Bitcoin foundation all together I doubt many people want this though as there is good potential there.

there's no need for a petition, just start a new foundation, that's it

there's no need to demolish the current foundation, just simply start a new one,

there's no need to complain about the current foundation, just start a new foundation,

I can say it a million different ways but it will all boil down to -- start a new one.

They're not a democratically elected body, nor do they speak for the whole of Bitcoin any way.

they are the leaders of the industry,
they are the one's that set the example,
they are the one who set the tone,
they are bitcoin in corporate flesh

if you want to start a new board it can start today, but unless you are willing to give time and money to take heat from the world your best bet is to work with what you got.

Remember, the foundation isn't paying you, you are playing for the opportunity to serve the foundation and get disrespected on an international lever from everyone with a bitcoin as soon as the value drops, or a board member reveals that he's human.

The overview of the foundation you have given is bad they are not the leaders of the industry actually what industry are you even talking about?

They set the example? Like setting the example that mt gox is the best exchange out there?

They set the tone to what exactly I fail to understand your reason that you haven't provided.

if they are not what I claim them to be that what other entity comes close to that description?

Corrupt Foundation which doesn't represent anything Bitcoin related except for promoting services which steal your money.

I've served on boards and elected office, everyone in those situations listen to petitions, but don't forget they may also have other interests to consider.

Let me ask you this, has any of you called any of the board members?

I asked you to tell me what OTHER entity comes close to the description that I provided for the foundation.

the simple fact is there is no other entity that comes close to representing bitcoin.

The foundation doesn't run Mt. Gox any more than they ran Silk Road or run anyone's company, they are an independent body there to do as I indicated and whatever it is that is there mission.   But if you or anyone else don't like them I am willing to help in the effort to start a new foundation.

I see no good in using good energy for negative purpose when that energy could be used to build positive purpose.

Petitions are a bit of paper that can easily be ignored. Oh look there's a petition calling for us to quit? Shall we ignore it? Yes, ok.

A lot of utter ignorance about what the foundation does and who it's members are. Of course anyone can start their own organization, or join the foundation. You can lead, follow, or get out of the way.   But a petition from outside of the organization should be ignored, in my opinion.

Please note that, despite the name, the "bitcoin foundation" is unrelated to bitcoin because bitcoin is decentralized and has no leader, no foundation, it is just a protocol. The foundation in no way can force what they want to bitcoin because users can simply happily ignore them.
No need to "remove" them, "remove" from where? Bitcoin is not their property  Wink

Because it is part of our secret plan? The work the bitcoin foundation does benefits you. They organize conferences, meet with lawyers in Washington to persuade lawmakers about the virtues of bitcoin. They provides a place for the press to find facts instead of making them up.
That is not to say that you should not do it also. I think you should. But it is going to get expensive flying to NYC and DC all the time. Doesn't it make more sense to form an organization that pools our funds and provides a place to debate things?   Something like say... a bitcoin foundation.

That's a good point no need to remove them and another foundation wouldn't solve any of the problems we currently have.

Have we got any proof of you doing this? nothing is transparent and that is what is wrong with it.  also you guys focus on the NYC and DC area only? that's hardly anything to help Bitcoin you are only helping Bitcoin in the US you should be looking for international members instead of focusing on one place.

Very little of the foundation website is not publicly viewable. You can see what is going on for yourself.
https://bitcoinfoundation.org/forum/

The reason so much is happening in NYC and DC is not because of the foundation, that is just where the financial and political decisions are being made in the U.S.
Now your criticism of the foundation being America-centric is an issue within the foundation as well. That is why there is a push to create additional foundations in Europe, Asia, Africa, India, and the Middle East.  Each of these regions has it's own special challenges and it's makes sense to have other organizations with different efforts.
We are all on the same team.
