I posted a thread on this on the mining board but it didn't go so well so I'm posting it here...

I found the S9-Hydro and was wondering a few things:
• Has anyone got one of these and knows whether it's hard or not to attach the radiator/water cooler to the miner?
• Does anyone also know the import duties from China to the UK - I know I have to pay 20% vat on top of that too but not the exact duties?

Thanks for your replies!

gov.uk seems like a great site in principle but it never has what you want (it's like the government, just skirts round issues rather than tackling them Grin).

Anyway, they say to call the helpline to get the accurate tariff rate, maybe I'll just have to take the stab and buy one of the miners and see how it goes...

I hope there won't be much headache. I bought decent number of watches, pos printers and other kind of electronic devices from china through alibaba and stuffs kind of websites. Never faced any duty issue or any kind of headache like that.

I wish you good luck.

You can check the TARIC database to get the EC duties on any good imported into the European Community: http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/taric_consultation.jsp?Lang=en

But keep in mind that 2 customs agents might put an ASIC in 2 different categories. So maybe they ask you XX% the first time you import an ASIC and YY% the second time... I advise you to find a cheap category (with 0% duties) and ask your supplier to indicate this TARIC code when he exports.

I think a printed circuit is the closest (and has 0% duty)?

The circuits for each of the chips are printed so it's probably the most likely...

It's not always easy to find the exact TARIC code because there are so many goods but I guess "printed circuit" is suitable for an ASIC.
