So, everyone is moaning and complaining about Bitcoin not being "Green" and using too much electricity, but now some

innovative people have figured out how to use Crypto currencies to save some animals and to give nature a helping hand,

before another animal goes extinct.  Angry

Do you know of any other projects that can help with nature conservation, preferably using Bitcoin?

How about Reef Coin. I'm not sure how legit the project is, but they are apparently trying to save the Coral Reefs.

Yes, this is also a very big concern, I watched a documentary on Reef Bleaching and how warming oceans are killing our reef

coral. I just hope that the money invested into these projects, goes to the projects and not into people's pockets. If only one

of them turns into a scam, nobody will invest in them in the future. Thanks for your contribution.  Wink

Frankly speaking, I am not able to see much business feasibility of any of these Rhino coin or Reef Coin. What I read from the article is that the Rhino coin is focusing to increase the liquidity for the Rhino conservation efforts and give value to the legal Rhino horn trade, subject to legal documentation. This particular market is not wide open for the common people to move in and has thousands of legal restrictions as well.

It's true that the market is completely untapped, but the coin will just introduce another layer of transactions and conversion of values in this business framework, probably not the most sought after practice for the Rhino horn trades, considering the legal hassles they face. If the coin can reduce the lagal hassles in this particular trade, then it will make some sense, otherwise not! From one article, definitely I can't imagine the entire scenario, but whatever I am reading, doesn't make much business sense.

So far the way i understand it to be honest mining where they are incharge of keeping tract of every transaction made by bitcoin is actually consuming so much energy i am hopeful that thay can find ways to use natural energy and convert a better community and safer nature to live in.

I don't believe that any of those humanitarian and other charity coins can work. Bitcoin, the biggest cryptocurrency, is barely being used when compared with traditional payment methods. Altcoins have just a tiny fraction of Bitcoin's adoption, so they can't change anything in this world as long as they have like 10 or 100 active daily users.

Next, the problem with this specific RhinoCoin is that it can't be really decentralized if it wants to be backed by rhino horn, because it requires users to trust that the company behind the coin will honor their promise to exchange coins for horn.

I agree. It would be nice if it turned out to be a legit project for once. Too many shitcoins around use these days. Let's hope there is some genuine passion left for the greater good.

I think bitcoin can continue drive progress more years even it has no legal acceptance.
