I know we have goldbugs here. Anyone into diamonds? I'm looking into buying loose stones for a ring. A matched pair of .3ct white round cuts and a radiant 1ct. stone.

I only want F color or better, high specs all around.

Does anyone know of a place that takes BTC for this?

What is your price range?
I don't know enough about diamonds really. I am finding that a good price for the 1ct. center stone runs about $3,500.

Thanks to Ritual and nitehawk. I'll check into your suggestions.

Thanks, I will be careful. Any diamond purchase will be escrowed or done in person. Otherwise I will be dealing with an established, licensed business.

Hey all. I did find some diamonds for the ring. Learned some things about them as well. Particularly about insuring them. If you have your jewelry insured you might want to check the valuation. There is a good chance you are under or over insured because the price is very volatile. One piece I had appraised at $7600 in 2011 has fallen to $5100. That drop is just due to a change in fashion away from emerald cuts. Geeze, I should have had it set with a bitcoin.

Thanks that is good info.
I am going to be taking some jewelry in for appraisal for insurance and possible sale purposes soon and I did not think about the valuation differences due to what is in style at this time or not.
