Hey all,

I used the importprivkey function in QT to import a wallet with a small balance on it.  The public address shows up in the "receive" window.  However, it still says my balance is 0.  I've checked the address on blockchain, and i still confirms there is a balance for this public address.

Why does bitcoin QT still say my balance is 0?

Thanks

I have a very similar problem with Mycelium wallet. I transferred BTC in and it shows up confirmed with a positive balance, but several hours later the balance is zero. I check the blockchain and the bitcoin has not moved. It's still there. I don't understand why blockchain shows funds while the Mycelium app doesn't. Shoudl I uninstall and then reinstall the app and then recover with the address, private key and password?

I had a similar problem with electrum wallet until I logged off and then logged back in. Try that and see if it works. For some reason, electrum would always say zero confirmations even though the blockchain shows confirmations unless I exited the program and then re-entered.

This worked for me. Don't just reboot, turn on/off your phone. Turn it off and remove the battery. Install the sim card in another phone, then reinstall sim card in the original phone. The BTC magically reappeared.

If this doesn't work, then uninstall/reinstall the app. Then, revive from keys and passwords backup files.

Depending on the exact parameters you used when importing the private key into Bitcoin-Qt, you may have to exit the Bitcoin-Qt program and run it with the rescan command line parameter.  The rescan will take a while (more than a minute, less than a day), so you'll need to wait for it to complete.  The amount of time it takes will depend on the speed of your computer.
