Does anyone have experience mining near the ocean? Debating on setting up shop practically on the coast and wondering if anyone mines/has experience in a similar environment..

My concerns are pretty straightforward.. Salt can't be good for machines, wires and infrastructure over time.

Can anyone think of a way to mitigate this salty environment?

Here is a thread that I remember touched on it.

If you are close enough for salt to be an issue you are probably going to run into trouble as it will start to corrode everything. Maybe reach out to OP and see if they found a work around.

As noted in earlier in the linked thread, it is not so much the salt in the air as it is the humidity combined with the salt. You have to dehumidify the air. Without moisture the salt has no effect on metals whereas moisture even without salt content leads to corrosion, adding salt to the mix just speeds it up.

Appreciate the feedback. I have reached out to OP and hopefully will hear back on his experience since he last posted.

Will post an update if I hear anything back.

Thanks guys!
