Yes, you need more merits (and activity) to rank-up on the forum (see Merit & new rank requirements). Your Next stop is Jr. Member (1 Merit which you already have, and 30 Activity), and the one after that is Member (10 Merits and 60 Activity).

Rank has nothing to do with purchasing coins or anything. Why are you relating them? Coins/Token are generally bought on exchanges or through participation in ICOs. Bitcointalk is not responsible nor participates in them other than by hosting informational threads and ICO campaigns, but the purchases are not made through this forum.  

You still need to read a lot if you don’t want to be scammed in this crypto world …

If you are referring to bounty. Projects actually grade stakes according to the rank of those involved in signature campaign.

And for buying or investing in coin you do not need any merit or high rank. You don't even need a bitcointalk account. You can purchase coin from an exchange or if you intend getting it from individuals here you can do it with a trusted escrow

Don't you need merit to buy, invest or learn about cryptocurrencies. The merit will be given by random form members to your high-quality posts. No. You don't. Bitcointalk isn't sort of like a central foreign exchange that you need certain requirements to be able to "invest". To buy some coins/tokens, all you need is money of course, and probably some personal identification documents to submit to the exchange, depending on what country you're on and on what exchange you're using.

Please study and do research before putting your money into cryptocurrencies, as it would really be unwise to throw money into things that you don't understand.

Investing in coins have nothing to do with forum rank.
You need merit and activity, both of them to increase your rank.

What you need more than anything else is the will to learn, and the ability to search and read threads. Until you develop an enquiring mind, and a will to work and research, your crypto experiences will be limited severely.

Wish the OP luck on ranking up for it seem so hard now especially if one is not that good poster. If you had good English well then you got a better chance on receiving merit and rank up. Local boards is not also a guarantee for one to get merit because some of the local boards do not have a source merit.

There are other factors also that will enable you to rank up and that is by being good technicay with computer and share it here in the forum.

And if you will be able to find it hard to get merit then do not blame the admin of this forum. The merit system was introduced to reduce spam and pointless post. So blame the spammer not the admin of the forum. Spammer kills the newbie to rank up.

There is nothing mandatory to have good merit to buying coins and also need not merit to learn and invest in the crypto world. Your post should be high informative and qualified then you will have merit from random members from the forum. If you do not make a better post with the authentic information you will not get merits.

It is indeed a must to have merits to make your rank be higher than your usual rank by now. DdmrDdmr has sent you the link to know more about the rank, merit etc. here in this forum. Good posting may ensure you to get more merit specifically if you are helping the forum for an instance. DdmrDdmr is the best example of that one. He just been registered this 2018 same as the implementation of the merit requirements but look at how he gain much merits that maybe in next year he'll be a Legendary no doubt about it.

Yes, you'll need more merit when increasing your rank but when investing or buying coins you don't need any merit at all. All you need is a website that sells coins that you want. If you want to feel safe when buying coins you should use escroe service to make any transaction safe. When investing all you need is capital to invest in any coin you want.
