Weekly Dev Stand-up — Mar 4, 2018

To be honest, I was just going to write a blah-blah-here’s-the-update kind of post. But some events unfolded in the Slack channel this morning that changed my mind, and some things deserve mentioning twice (or more). So here goes.

In case you missed the big news this week: For the first time ever, ECC is now available for trade directly with a fiat currency. This is a big step forward for our community, and we want to maintain the momentum. We want to continue making it easier for anyone to exchange X for ECC, and to do so, we need your help.

Right now, the development of the new donations page is well under way. This will help us to better visualize our goals, with specific targets to hit for buying our way onto the various exchanges. That is coming soon.

The best thing we can do right now is vote. We’ve consolidated the current voting opportunities here, so please take the time to click on each one, cast your vote, and help us move one step closer to being listed on these exchanges:

ECC Collaborates with Crypto Community To Produce First-Ever Crowdsourced eBook

What Would Satoshi Say? eBook speculates how Satoshi may respond to crypto challenges
ECC, a community-driven cryptocurrency and multi-chain platform, today announced a collaboration with the Cryptosync, Cryptoseer, and Future Fossils Podcast communities to produce a decentralized, crowdsourced eBook called, What Would Satoshi Say?.

The eBook will be powered by a crowdsourced survey to be released publicly on Wednesday, May 23rd. The survey asks participants in the crypto space to respond to current cryptocurrency debates as if they are the founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

“As we near the 10 year anniversary of Bitcoin, we can’t help but wonder how Mr. Nakamoto might respond to some of the most pressing issues in crypto today,” said @ECC Buddha, an ECC community member and one of the survey’s designers. “It would be absolutely fascinating if we could ask Satoshi questions, like what top characteristics should legitimate exchanges look for in altcoins? Since he’s not here to comment, the community he inspired is the next best thing.”

This is just one of 18 questions the survey poses to the crypto community at large. To incentivize responses, ECC community members have donated 700,000 ECC (equivalent to approximately $1,000 USD) to a pool which will be distributed to the top voted answers.

The eBook, which will be produced and released in June, will feature the top voted answers and quotes from crypto influencers and holders throughout the space. “At a time where crypto is going mainstream and greed is starting to take root, our hope is that this survey and eBook can play a small part in inspiring the crypto community to keep thinking bigger” said ECC’s Marketing Lead, Wim Sijberts.

There Are No Secrets To Success

Success is no accident and there are no secrets to it. It is something that takes time, skill and often trial and error. These are all things which ECC and its development and marketing team have endured through time and time again, and continue to use as fuel for future successes. From the re-brand to the release of Sapphire to preparing for the upcoming release of ANS, this team has undoubtedly shown a loyalty and persistence to ECC that most would love to see in all cryptocurrency projects.
Like any emerging technology things take time and sometimes longer than one’s patience. As the ECC team keeps striving to get the Sapphire features and network services released we just ask that people keep in mind that all of this is new technology that has not been done before so it will take time. But please rest assure that the team is hard at work, and if you ever doubt that feel free to check the Github or ask one of the devs or marketing team members yourself inside of Discord.
