When I got into crypto years ago it didn't seem like Reddit was a very active place besides the BTC sub reddit, since 2017 we have seen an influx of communities that have grown around alt-coins.

Notice how top tier coins like Dash and Litecoin aren't really that active, but a coin like Kin is in the top 10 in activity but not in the top 50 in market cap. This post shows how it's important to follow the right social outlets when doing research and following a certain coin communities.
