Do you always feel the urge to check your phone several times in a day even when there are not logical reason to do so, or get excessive emotional on the turn of events within the crypto-space? You  may have to take a step back and re-examine some of these actions so as to have a full grasp of things. You may be a "crypto-addict''.
Addiction as generally used refers to a condition where one engages in the use of a substance or a behavior for which the rewarding effect will be providing a compelling incentive to repeatedly pursue the behavior despite detrimental consequences.
For crypto-currency, it is not hard to get 'high' on the rush, too much emotions and some moments of frustration or bitterness when things do not go our way and as such can have some detrimental effect on other aspects of our lives- family, social life, friends, day job etc.

Common practices or signs in my observation includes the following

1. If the price of bitcoin or your favorite altcoin is the last thing on your mind before you sleep, like a it is the last thing you check before you sleep
2.If price is the first thing you check when you wake up
3. You always have a tab on your favorite crypto website(e.g  coinmarketcap ) open even when you are at work
4. You cannot keep up with your friends or colleagues on general subjects unless it is related to blockchain or you avoid general interactions altogether so as to be fully focused on your crypto portfolio
5. You spend a better part of the day looking at charts or on market reviews even when you do not intend to make an investment decision soon
6. You check for market updates on your phone every other minute.

Why you should want to be moderate about it
Most of us are in it for the money and the knowledge but it should never be at the expense of other good things of life such as
1. Family time or relationships ( you don't want to get your spouse sad)
2. Health, no need to get too stressed up.
3. Social interactions or having a nice time with friends or colleagues at work
4. Job, most employers will not welcome the idea of you getting too distracted at work
5. Leisure, we all need to relax once in a while.

What you could do
1. Allocate a fixed time of the day to handle your crypto-related issues
2. Learn to apply less emotions to your deals
3. Do not invest all of your life's saving in a single asset, true with cryptos, I can make you too obsessed with it
4. Appreciate other good things in life, make friends ,go out, date and enjoy a good life
5. See a psychologist if it very serious

Please add your own suggestions ,comments etc

The article is very useful and accurate. I seem to be holding the phone all day just to watch the price of bitcoin.

I believe that Investors who have been in cryptocurrency for a long time, they may already have an addiction or in other words drug addiction.

There're two sides of "addiction" as good addiction and bad addictions. This is a good addiction. Person who addicts with what he's doing for living generate maximum possible earning potentials through his addiction. So, addict with it!

Everything that is done excessively is an addiction. If you can't balance your time and spent almost everything into crpytospace then you are really addicted to it. Everything that is above and below normal is not good. This will create stress on your part specially if the goal that you wish to achieve will not be met. You need to just chill and manage your time properly. Addiction into something will always lead to stress and depression.

I remember the time I first met with this forum and with crypto money. It was just five minutes a day. Once in a while, I was looking for coin prices and spending time with friends and family. Even when I'm on vacation, I have a phone or a computer.

Is there anything wrong if you are a crypto addict? It will surely make you to be conversant with what you are doing and will be in love with it. There is noway you will succeed in any venture if you are not in love with such venture. I am happy to be crypto enthusiast and i talk about crypto, i dream it and i eat from it. That is who i am a crypto addict.

I can relate to this.

Is not only that we feel the withdraw and miss the high and that mortality falls upon our veins once more out of the clouds we were onto. Is that, myself at least, feel an urgency to trade, to do something...
I learned to finally take a vacation. In the past two years since i joined, is like i was in a dream, 24/7 connected non stop for the life in me. Be it telegram, forum, or price charts, mails, ico, youtube, NEWS.
Trust me, one decision is all it takes, so for this i prepare to release all negative emotions, and also forgive myself for the stupid mistakes, and forgive others as well.

Get a trip to the mountains, the rivers, the trees. Forget crypto for a weekend at least... let it go, let it be.

i must confess, the addiction of people towards crypto is not in anyway anything bad as we have people who get addicted to drugs and other related social vices and we see those as negative addiction. when it comes to crypto, people are always in on it at all times and thats addiction.
