WHY TCEN?
The Tocean Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to raise money to distribute to other organizations who are working towards world peace and or protecting the ocean.
Long before ICO's , an artist, a poet, a free spirit, a healer and and a dear friend dreamed of a currency to facilitate peace between the nations of the Earth.
He proposed that money should be backed by the water in the ocean. Roger Maurice's token solidifies that each living person is entitled to their proportionate share of the ocean water.
During the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Roger was always talking about solutions an or resolutions to the wars. This is when I first heard about his alternative currency. I simply processed the data and didn't give it another thought until I became involved in ICO's.
I have a deep love for the ocean and want to create awareness of situations threatening not only the ocean but our existence.
Most of our OXYGEN COMES FROM THE OCEAn not from trees.
FOC vs. Phytoplankton
Phytoplankton are photosynthesizing microscopic biotic organisms that inhabit the upper sunlit layer of almost all oceans and bodies of fresh water on Earth absorb energy from the Sun and nutrients from the water to produce their own food. In the process of photosynthesis, phytoplankton release molecular oxygen into the water. It is estimated that between 50% and 85% of the world's oxygen is produced via phytoplankton photosynthesis.
Flag of Convenience or FOC is a business practice under which ship's owners register their ships in a nation that they do not necessarily belong to. This is a way for ship owners to conceal their identity and avoid regulatory compliance.
Flag of convenience ships have been involved with some of the highest-profile oil spills in history (such as the Maltese-flagged MV Erika, the Bahamian-flagged MV Prestige, the Marshallese-flagged Deepwater Horizon,[54]and the Liberian-flagged SS Torrey Canyon, MV Amoco Cadiz[55] and MV Sea Empress[56]). But the most common environmental criticism FOC ships face is in regards illegal fishing.
These FOC ships are riddle with issues from Humanitarian to Environmental. If i knew that a product was shipped on an FOC ship....I would not buy the product. Our goal is to let consumers know they are or are not supporting FOC ships when they buy a product.
Goals
1. Develop a Blockchain Application- to track Flag Of Convenience ships and let consumers know the products and the retailers selling goods transported by these ships.
2. Develop a currency- that is backed up by the ocean water and generates income to be distributed to non-profits working for peace and for protection of the ocean.
3. Mining for Charity- We will suggest to our membership they implement Masternode rewards and Mining with added incentives for contributing the rewards to charity.
4. Serve Notice to the United Nations- that the citizens of this planet are each and individually equitable owners of the international ocean water.
5. Make Big Oil Pay- When oil companies drill on land or in Federal or State waters they pay a royalty. That royalty is typically between 20-25% of the proceeds. In international waters they pay....guess who? Nobody but themselves.
FACTORS that could EFFECT the CURRENCY
1. Rising Ocean
We are not aware of a real time counter of Ocean Volume. There are several scientific organizations, such as NOOA that are keeping track of the rising ocean and have calculated the current volume. There is an agreement in science community that 1,332,000,000 cubic kilometers of water presently make up our oceans. We will look towards the owners of TCEN and the science community to decide whether rising ocean levels should be factored in to and fluctuate the value of the Token.
2. Rising Population
In contrast, we are aware of many real time population counters. It may not be fair, wise or feasible to factor in population growth without factoring in rising ocean levels. Both of which are forecasted to increase. Once again we will look towards TCEN owners to determine whether rising population and ocean levels should factor in to the price of the token moving forward.
5.1 billion tokens currently exist, of which 1.332 billion* will be held in a Trust and cannot be traded. That is a TCEN for every cubic kilometer of ocean water. Today if we give every person on the planet their portion of the ocean we would all receive 233,450,525.1 cubic kilometers.
OPEN SOURCE AND GOVERNANCE
This one belongs to the people. The developers will steer the ship out of the harbor and into open water. Then we will relinquish the control. We will provide ideas and thoughts along the way. Proposals will be heard and accepted from TCEN holders during and after the ICO and as long as the currency is in circulation.
There are many paths we can take. We can currently mint new tokens, Should we not? We obviously have started by using ERC20 tokens, should we build our own Blockchain? Should we be proof of stake, proof of work? etc..See our blog and lets get started.
Tocean Team Members do not receive TCEN as compensation. We are permitted to participate in the 3 airdrop rounds, which means the most unpaid Tokens a team member could accumulate is 9,999. Team members may purchase TCEN during the ICO and the Tocean Foundation will give Roger Maurice 333,333 TCEN should we reach our hard cap.

We invite everyone who holds a minimum of 3,333 TCEN to be a deciding factor in the tokens future. Your vote will be as valuable as everyone else's regardless of the amount of currency you hold. One Vote = One Person.
Nominate or Become a Board Member! Truly. We are by no means the most qualified people to accomplish these goals. We just care deeply about them.
ELECTIONS will be held at the conclusion of the ICO. Nominations are currently being accepted. Yes, you may nominate yourself.
PROTECT OUR OCEAN
The hydro surface of the planet is not owned by a single country. Yet it needs protection. The majority of our oxygen comes from Algae that lives in the Ocean. We need a healthy ocean to exist as humans on this planet and Flag of convenience ships are threatening that. Not too mention all the garbage that is discarded by ships and piling up or floating around in a big circle in the pacific. We all need to breathe and we all own the ocean. It is ours. It is our responsibility.
With blockchain it appears that everyone fresh start and a final warning. The owners of TCEN will work towards identifying and tracking the movements of Flag of Convenience ships and others who are polluting our ocean. We want to know who is purchasing products from the people polluting the ocean. So we can let them know and give them an opportunity to change. If Iknew that a certain product came from a ship that was destroying the ocean, I would not buy it, nor would I shop shop at the store who is distributing the product.
WORK FOR PEACE ON EARTH
How many people on the planet want war? How many parents want their children to have to experience the horror's of the past? We don't know anyone who wants that, yet we fail as citizens of the planet to prevent the atrocities of war. We have seen brutal dictators kill millions, boys who never had a chance to be an adult have been killed over the price of oil, over Religious beliefs without regards to the teachings of their own religion. Insanity. We need to reach out to other cultures and understand one another. When we do that, we will find, that we all want the same thing....to be loved. Peace is possible and within reach.
