How efficient and dependable is Tormail?

I just have that weird feeling that it would be stupid to use Gmail for doing or talking about doing Silk Road-tier things.

But maybe Tormail is an unnecessary hassle.

What do?  Huh

You should definitely use Gmail for your crimes. It makes the NSAs job so much easier.

It reliably and efficiently lets law enforcement read your mail.  Even if you did use PGP, they would at least get the metadata.

This is useful. crypto.cat is a cool solution too, but it might not be as good.

I don'n know what you mean . What is a tormail?
It was an anonymous email service which has since been hijacked and taken offline by the FBI.

You can read more about it here, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_Mail
Quote
The following month, details emerged of a zero-day JavaScript attack, which was injected into the Tor Browser Bundle based on Firefox ESR 17 if JavaScript was enabled as it was by default. JavaScript was turned off by default in updated versions of Tor Browser Bundle. However, this was used during the takedown, which was exploited to send users' IP addresses and Windows computer names to a server in Virginia.[3][4] In January 2014 it was confirmed that FBI has access to Tor Mail servers.[5]

In January 2016, it was stated that innocent TorMail users may have also been hacked by the FBI.

If you want to use something similar, i think today's equivalent would be https://protonmail.com/, if used with PGP & Tor/A good VPN provider.

Very reliable and good service, as far as I know.
I heard a lot about it, but I do not use it myself.
Use something more popular and reliable

That's funny, considering that it was seized in 2013..  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
