No one knows where Bitcoin will go price wise, at some point when there is mass adoption it will become less volatile I am sure, but for now, it's anyone's very wild guess. That Bitcoin could ever reach 100k USD That might be possible in the next five years easily because then many more people will know about it but it will be the very early adopters who will be the luckiest as they had Bitcoin when it was a dollar or even up to 1k USD, plus all of those peeps who have been trading altcoins for Bitcoin over the years. I hope in 5 years at least I can hold 1 Bitcoin for my retirement.

His first thought is it’s unfortunate that the exchange got hacked. I mean, it’s not unexpected. But I think this is just the nature of the game. Freedom of money means that you have full control over your money, and if you give control away to an exchange, then they have the control over the money and they can easily lose it.

This probably won’t be the last time we hear about an exchange getting hacked. But this is definitely one of the largest hacks that I remember in terms of percentage of the coins out there.

It really doesn't matter what people predict. Bullish or bearish predictions, it doesn't matter, these prominent people in the crypto space, these so called "experts" , are just making guesses, no different than you or I.


What matters is watching the market.

Doing technical analysis, fundamental analysis, paying attention to big news stories and how they affect the price, and understanding the bitcoin price cycle. Predictions are just people's opinion. People predict the price will drop to $3000 this year or go to $50k this year, both are absurd and are completely lacking in context according to the four things mentioned above. No one should ever care about predictions as though they are news, sure you can debate people's predictions, including your own, but anyone can make a prediction, a prediction is not news.

Yes, making a prediction is like buying the ticket lottery. You're just trying your luck and if the prediction is correct, you are able to say "I told you!" A prediction from C. I dont trust Charlie Lee since he sold all his litecoins. Some people said he had inside information about the bear market coming, so he shorted all his LTC.

I still have LTC, but I will short all of it as soon as it go back to the previous ATH. Its the only altcoin that Im still holding, and I regret it, because its a weak coin.

I don't think it took insider information. I'm sure he just realized a crash has gotta be coming at some point and Litecoin went up by over 100x last year so he got out and now he's filthy rich. I only have 6 LTC but I wish I had done the same! That's not insider trading, that's smart. It's not like a few people crashed the market, it crashed cuz there was crazy buying hype built up about the paper futures even though paper futures don't do anything for Bitcoin's price, so that whole futures bubble in November and December collapsed. Charlie Lee was just smarter enough to see it coming. I could care less that he got out of the coin he created, it was his stash so it was his prerogative.

Let's be honest here, what is Litecoin's purpose in this industry? Its main purpose is being Bitcoin's testbed, maybe to some extent offer fast and cheap on-chain transactions, but that's all there is to name up.

I'm sure that he allocated a part of his freshly obtained fiat wealth to buy Bitcoin at bottom levels. I like how he's not letting his bias towards his own project work against him. I respect his move to get rid of Litecoin.

Litecoiners can complain all day, but they should accept that Litecoin hasn't much to differentiate itself with in an industry with thousands of similar coins......

Well being Bitcoin's testbed is already a way better usecase than 99% of altcoins out there. It has a decent amount of liquidity and will always have the "the original altcoin" distinction honorary badge if that counts (even if technically there was I think an altcoin before Litecoin but never went anywhere, I forgot the name right now).

I actually think LTC can pump again after the next halving which is coming may 2019. Of course im not gambling a single satoshi on it.

As far as Charlie Lee going, he did the right thing I guess. He made a ton of money and people can no longer claim he has a conflict of interest.

I'm sure there must have been some kind a cooperation with his brother to go short, especially with how Bobby Lee more than anyone else knows how to take advantage of a whale about to unload a large number of coins.

I would do the exact same thing. Using Bitcoin to Go short on BitMEX with crazy leverage, tank Litecoin on spot exchange(s), count fiat profits + BTC profits. Who can say no to millions in effortless profits?

It's technically insider trading, but what could he realistically do differently? If he was openly going to say that he was about to dump his stash, the market would implode as well, and Lee would have shot himself in the foot.

He has long been known for his mercantile statements, so few people believe his words. I understand that he is looking for benefits everywhere, so in this case there may be the same thing that happened with Litecoin. But I like the fact that he often began to respond positively to Bitcoin, maybe this will increase the acceptance of Bitcoin among those who believe Charlie Lee.

It is a " wild guess" however there is no way to predict the market than wild guess.  Charlie Lee is one those that were able to study this market and predict market directions that has come to pass.  I believe that we can able to trade along some investor like Charlie that has opened mind on cryptocurrencies.  Many of us may said otherwise but the reality is that bitcoin is going to go up in few days to come.

well, I remember that weeks before he sold his litecoins he made a prediction that litecoin would drop a lot and after a few weeks he would sell his litecoins, that was something very suspicious
