Hi, Some time ago I added the bitcoin address to one of the many wallets that I have created over time and a few small payments were made using this adress but for the life of me, I can't remember which wallet I used and got the address from...Is there a way of finding out which company the address belongs to? Should I post the bitcoin address here? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Next time before you created Btc wallet, be sure to save that address and that log in data. I always save my wallet in my notepad and give it name to remember where my wallet to save it. Be carefull to save that wallet and don't forget to clean it with anti virus to check that safe enough or not.

Hi. You download wallet on your PC and after get that address? Or you use an online wallet (login on site) when created? Can you look at your history on browser? Or you use a mobile phone when get that address? Do you have any backup of your wallets?

Well surely you have a note of the several exchanges, wallets you have opened up a BTC wallet with? (keeping private keys safe).
You might just have to go into each wallet and check the public addresses until it matches the one you are looking for.

In future, there is no harm is having a document/spreadsheet with all your public addresses and which wallet they are for. For example you might have several BTC addresses for several exchange wallets you might need to transfer BTC over to buy alts. Keeping all these addresses in the one place with specific names makes life so much easier when juggling any funds between wallets.

I'm guessing its an exchange or some kind of service provider judging from the word "company". If it is, try pasting your address here: https://www.walletexplorer.com/
Be sure to also check your email accounts, services usually send confirmation emails. So try pasting your address in the search bar.

If I'm wrong, check if you have any saved seeds. And can I also ask why do you need it?, just to give us context

You can't remember which wallet but for sure you remember the passwords, seeds, private key of your btc wallets right?
Then, Login to your wallets one by one and look for transactions, Maybe you will find something there, Goodluck!

I barely remember if there's a way to determine on which wallet provider that address that came form. The easiest way to do is to check your browser history and figure out what's the provider(website) you used for generating that address.

If you have those seeds/private keys/recovery phrase you can try it out for each wallet that you remember using. Don't ever post these online and don't give it to someone that tells you he'll help you figure out.

I'm guessing its an exchange or some kind of service provider judging from the word "company".
Yes it could be an exchange, casino, desktop wallet or online wallet (blockchain.info -> blockchain.com).

In general there is no way to tell which "wallet" (or exchange or web wallet) any given bitcoin address is from... at best, you can tell when certain addresses belong to the same wallet (ie. when UTXOs from multiple addresses are used as inputs to the same transaction), but generally speaking you can't know which specific "wallet" the addresses are from.

Well, there is no chance to figure out which address belongs to which wallet (and thats a huge advantage of BTC in my opinion).
I am sure you know your private seeds, logins to exchanges etc.? Restore your wallets, check your balances at the exchanges etc and you will find your coins. Good luck!

You may go back to the basics with Bitcoin so. Because anyone can figure out to which wallet an address belong to. How many times we will have to say Bitcoin isn't anonymous. And OP didn't mention about still having a private key. If he had he would have already tried it already.
He can use walletexplorer.com to find his address and it's from an exchange or web-based wallet he will find it.

Login all of your accounts one by one and see where is your btc. If you check all, there you must get the address and coin of you.
