No other altcoin (correct me if I am wrong) has ever had this project ported for it.
Electrum is a python thin-client which allows for additional security and restoration of wallet using a mnemonic sequence of words.
The network is backed by a distributed system of nodes which can be used by the client to list transactions for an address and send them as well. All communications with these nodes can be encrypted.
Currently, the wallet is only available for Linux, but anyone with a Windows system and some skills could make an executable for Electrum.
Please, give Electrum-MMC a try and post any questions or concerns here. Enjoy

Little side bounty (for those who care only):
the first person to compile a working Windows version of the Electrum-MMC wallet with py2exe gets 500 MMC.
