Hi

Nowadays that ASIC are getting more interesting for ETH ... I have been playing these days with one rig to try to get a good perfomance Watts/Mhs. I was finally able to go down 2,25W/Mhs with on rig of 6 x 5700 and 1 x 3080.

I have try different combinations PhoenixMiner, TeamReadMiner+TRex and lolMiner... With TeamRedMiner I wasn't able to complete run 1 of the 5700, it was getting down, after some minutes, I think for the low undervolt...

The results with Phoenixminer, was 930W and with lolMiner 885W.

885/400 = 2.21W x Mhs...

With that combination I was able to get my target of the 400Mhs under 900W...  I later made another try and 421Mhs with 980W...

980/421=2.33W x Mhs.

GPU can get more hash but my idea was to improve the max performance of Watts/Mhs, to less heat, less degradation...

I will like to prove the test with instead 5 - 5700 Micron Memory with all 6 Samsung Memory to try to see if is possible to have the 850W...

You have a nice rig, very efficient

In times like these, of good prices, I prefer to use my settings to have more hashrate, and when things calms down I prefer to use the best efficient settings to save energy

I have mixed rigs here, with 5700, 5700xt, 5600, 1660 Super and 3070, only Phoenix Miner is solid stable here, can runfor days and days without any issue, but when I try Trex, lolminer or NB miner, the system will mine for some hours and then crash the AMD driver

With Phoenix miner my system consumes 10w more, but this makes all diference here, I prefer to stay using PM, I think PM uses a little more energy from memories and gives more stability to the system

Well it is good to find best watt to mh ratio.  But right now at 7 cents an mh if you can squeeze a little  more say 415 mh vs 400 mh even if watts goes up a little.

The 415 is better.

Ie 885/400 = 2.2125 watts a mh about 21.2 kwatts a day

 885 watts burns --------------------400mh earns
at 5 cent power   1.062..................... 28.16.      net  27.098
at 10 cent power 2.124 ......................28.16       net 26.038
at 15 cent power 3.186 .......................28.16       net 24.974
at 20 cent power 4.248 ........................28.16.      net 23.912

954/415 = 2.3 watts a mh. about 23 kwatts a day
 954 watts burns .................................................415mh earns
at 5 cent power   1.1448 .................................................. 29.216 net 28.0712
at 10 cent power 2.2896 ................................................... 29.216 net 26.9264
at 15 cent power 3.4344 ................................................... 29.216 net 25.7816
at 20 cent power 4.5792 ................................................... 29.216 net  24.6368

so in every case up to 20 cent power the less efficient 415 at 2.3 per watt makes more money.

All these comparisons need a grain of salt so to speak

eventually if power cost is high enough the less efficient setting makes less money .
At 5 cent power the less efficient setting I used makes about 98 cents more than the more efficient setting
at 20 cent power the less efficient setting I used makes about 72 cents more than the more efficient setting.

Also if You push really hard with settings it is harder on the cards.

Still very good to know your best power to hash setting.
And also good to know the highest $ for power setting.

Nice work op.

Complete true more Mhs more profit with the actual profit of eth, but also temps of memory and GPU are lower... and you can have with this safe of Watts another card... or in some hot ambient could help.

At the end is another option of mining... it was a good play of running and optimization.

Of course the other prove was the stability, in my case with lolaminer in last HiveOS this rig play is working incredibly...

It is good to have a full knowledge of a rig.

its highs, its lows ,best software etc.

Nice thread for knowledge expansion.

This is a good decision to get several presets for different conditions. When profit will decrease - you can reconfigure rig in 2 minutes. But right now - only maximize MH. Smiley

I finally got my 2 rigs tuned where I want them but near as well as yours powerwise.

My 5700XT's are running at 56MH each - could do more but don't like them getting too hot.  I don't have an at the wall number for them - external PSU also being used to power 4 R606 bitcoin miners, total at the wall is 1301w which also includes the Raspberry PI 4 controlling the R606's.

My Vega 64's nice and stable, getting 53-54MH each but they pull a bit of power - 4 of them 808w at the wall.

Running Team Red Miner, and of course they just released version 8 today that promises 8-9 watt reduction for 5700's and higher hash rate but I'm gonna wait for others to test it out.

So up to 493.5 MH, and I have a few old Nvidia cards I'm now going to get online.

I agree with you the hot of the memoryes... with the heat in my case now I prefer to wait until winter to push them... I have tryied out the new version TRM 0.8.0 but the problem is always a crash in one of the reference 5700 XT Samsung memory... So I decided to continue with the lower Watts with lolMiner and less Fee than TRM. Also because I prefer all cards in one Miner than making a Mix...

I'll have to try lolMiner next - I had been switching between phoenix and teamredminer but phoenix was crashing everytime with my Vegas after I flashed them to the 56 bios.

Surely. No one need to get problems with rig in such a time. I even don`t suppose situation, then anyone maximize hashrate with regular problems - in such way you loosing more, than can get from such optimization.

That's true... at the end each time lost solving problems is more than some small extra Mhs...
