Their is no use having lots of merits and not sharing ,I'm not here to beg for one but sharing my own thoughts about newbies on here that did create good topics and haven't received just one merit no matter how hard they try ,I thought the implementation of merits is to limit spammers and bots ,apart from spammers bots can't create topics    or can they? Full members to high ranks should be on look out for newbies who are atleast contributing something ,its a new year and I'm wishing everyone a happy new year in advance.

Give me 3 examples of what you're claiming.  If you can't do that, you're absolutely full of shit and only created this thread to get sympathy merits.  And as mdayonliner said, you really don't understand what the merit system is all about and why it was implemented.  Get your facts straight before you start tapping those keys.

I have drained almost all my sMerit and I have given more than 330, tho I'm not even a merit source, so guess what, I'm not the only one here. But to find someone deserving merit, this is still quite a difficult task and consumes time and effort.
Point one deserving merit and I'll give him my last one I have left.

You are thinking there are lots of topics created by newbie which deserve merits but not getting merit. If so collect 10 or more posts which should deserve merit but not receive any and post those here. If they really deserve then they may get merit and you might be a merit source.

You put a very catchy title but you do not have anything new to say, it's already complained many times here but the only answer always is finding quality post is not easy and also there is much spam which also makes it hard to find genuine discussions.

Also most of the merit sources here are active as you can see and are trying to send merits to more deserved posts so yes its working and also taken care of.

I have a thread in the Beginners & Help section where I try to help Newbies gain their first merit. It is meant ONLY for newbies and i put a certain amount of sMerits aside just for meriting newbies who have good posts. But, I am not getting a lot of responses there, which means that:

1. Newbies are not reading and browsing the Forum (besides the Altcoin section) and have not seen my thread.
2. Those Newbies who deserve merits have already been merited or will be merited sooner or later anyway, without my help.
3. They dont meet the conditions yet. One of the rules in my thread is 30+Activity.

The thread has been open from Dec 16th and it can be used as a good reference point that in fact there are not that many Newbie members who have decent posts and have not been merited already.

Merit system was created to encourage quality posting and reward helpful contributions, while limiting spammers and low quality posters.

With the current state of the forum, not being a spammer is not on it's own enough to rank up. You have to know the right boards to focus on, as some boards have become spam filled and the merits circulation there has dropped.
If you keep at quality posting, you are very likely to get merits and rank up.

I wouldn’t say there is much of a problem on the Newbie rank segment currently, at least not in the broader audience boards. Yes, many Newbies are meritless, and for a reason. As @Pmalek points out, his thread has visibly, and yet, being on the Beginners & Help board, lacks a line of postulating candidates, and of those that do, barely any have really anything worthwhile meriting.

I would shift the focus more on the speed at which people rank on the forum, if that is a thing for them, since getting a few merits is easy, but getting them on a regular basis is not. The idea of getting an average of one merit per day for decent enough posters has only been achieved so far by 99 people on the forum (with a total of 300 or above earned merits). Even if you make that conceptual objective half a merit per day, the amount of people that are keeping-up with this ratio is of 282 (with 150 or above earned merits).

Probably OP it was posted on SMT to which merit source would hardly acknowledge posts because more of it were just articles being copied and paste from the website. Basing on the merit source experience they have posted in this forum to which a merit source gave a merits to a copy and paste thread. It was more funny after finding out that the thread was being copied and paste post. So, now they have to review first the post before awarding merit. This will give them hard time to reward so OP this is one the reason why it is so hard to receive merits nowadays.

Jeebus crust it's one of those "newbies don't get merit, high ranked members are biased" posts again; just with a small drop of subtlety.

Tell you what, if anything, I'm actually more biased towards low ranked members. Just for some of you to have some merits, I actually tend to slightly lower my standards. Trust me when I say that, if a low ranked member deserves merits, he/she will get merits. It's just that they don't deserve it 95% of the time.

Sure what you do, knowledge, effort, skills, and experience are really needed to get what you want, everyone wants the best and the best, as long as you want to have a real effort. give a positive and useful posting to bitcointalk members, what you want is definitely achieved,
In essence, give information, topics, and meaningful answers, you can do it. The hands above are better than the hands below.
