Hi,

New trader, having previously traded on Mt Gox until I got frustrated with the repeated terrible lag in the trading engine on the down turns.

I moved to Bitfinex and really like the features available. While I haven't made any substantial gains or losses (been playing it fairly safe) I feel the website has screwed me over one or two times. I had a short on a market collapse and was in to make my first sizeable profit but alas the website crashed just as I had to close. Later I had another good short close at a loss well above the current ticker price. I had a trailing stop set up for this position in a hope it would save me should the website crash again, something was not right however, as the Bitcoin price was falling my P/L wasn't moving and neither was my trailing stop(which I cancelled when I noticed this). I've also had orders placed twice when clicking the margin buy button.

I guess this is more of a rant than anything as I feel I got burned again today. I really want to like their exchange for all its features and clean website. I haven't seen many other opinions on Bitfinex and find it odd that their forum is invite only.

So, have you traded on Bitfinex and what do you think of it?

Is there a desktop Bitcoin trading app (for Linux) that supports Bitfinex?

I use bitcoinwisdom.com for watching prices.
