Japanese IT products and services giant Fujitsu said it developed a blockchain-based exchange system for commercial electricity consumers that aims to facilitate a more stable power supply at peak periods, and save energy.

Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced that they have devised a system in which electricity consumers can efficiently exchange the surplus electricity they have produced through their own electricity generation or power savings.

Fujitsu is a quite popular company in the world and is one of the biggest players in electric industry so their influence will gain attention for this kind of adoption.

Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. announced that they have devised a system in which electricity consumers can efficiently exchange the surplus electricity they have produced through their own electricity generation or power savings.
And this is one hell of innovation, more powers to save.

It this a real blockchain?I think it's just a redistribution system between all the electricity consumers. It's just a peer-to-peer system.
A blockchain is something more than just a peer-to-peer system.

iirc, some ICOs project also aims to build the same thing. not sure what's the name, wepower, and some coins which was shilled by mcafee, and some others (forgot the details)? this is a bad news for them, on top of that they also want to patent it. hmm, will they be able to survive then.
