I was on the Quantum resistant ledger discord server doing an otc trade with "1033ruben#1949." I stupidly agreed to buy 3273 QRL coins from him for 0.11062854 BTC on 26 Sept. 2018. This miner turned out to only have 60 QRL in his wallet and did not give me the 3000, took off with the BTC and blocked me. Well, I investigated him and was easily able to track down his real identity. (You probably could too since he has many accounts but no doxxing) I compiled evidence and put it into a document. It turned out to be a guy living out of state. I filed reports with the authorities and basically forgot about it. I was pissed but $700 wasn't that huge a deal. Until about 2 or 3 months ago I got called the local police detective and they had everything ready etc. but they had no jurisdiction because the guy's house is right on the county line. They could forward it to the neighboring sheriff and prosecutor at my request. Then I thought about maybe just calling the guy... The statue of limitations for such a crime is 2 years.
His mother answered and stated that the scammer was disabled. I felt sympathetic for him but that quickly evaporated when he messaged me ON DISCORD and claimed to have had been hacked. His discord account had been commandeered just to scam me. I asked for proof and he showed none. Well I was told that his account had been scamming people and I have evidence of him doing that months before and after my incident to other users. I then messaged him, sent a demand letter, and called more. He would say "wrong number" block me on facebook, and refuse to respond.
All I want right now is closure and to resolve this situation. I feel very sorry for him and his disabilities. I am only demanding a part of the BTC back. The money wasn't even a big deal but this lying, bs excuses, scamming others, and behavior angered me. He has other forum postings of thousands of dollar gaming pcs and mining rigs. It is unacceptable and he needs to stop. I made this account here bc I know that 1033ruben is an active member on bitcointalk. This account is blocked from messaging him but I left a negative reputation.
