So I had about 0.5 btc in my mycelium wallet. I wanted to move some to another wallet so I did a test transaction of a small amount (like £50) and that was still awaiting confirmation.

In the meantime I decided to move all the rest to my chosen Exchange where I could trade it more easily and to set up a Send, using their QR code etc. It kept getting "rejected by the network". Anyway I then occurred to me that maybe this was due to the small amount not completing and I so stupidly selected the option to stop rebroadcasting  that amount. At that point the wallet appeared to empty - apart from small amount of money. The c.0.5 BTC I had has now vanished. There are not transactions showing in Mycelium for it, it's just the balance doesn't show it.

I can't work out what is happening. Is it still there but I'm looking at the wallet incorrectly somehow? Has it gone to the exchange but not showing as a transaction? Did I accidentally cancel something. I don't really know what to do at this point so some help would be handy -thanks.

You chose to stop broadcasting the TX's, but you never got the bitcoin back in your wallet - correct?

They're probably still being broadcasted, or your wallet isn't updated (?)..

Do you have the adress you sent them to, or the adress you sent them from? ( Or simply the TX id of the transaction).

Sort of, I THOUGHT I'd stopped the rebroadcasting of an earlier small amount and that the larger amount had been rejected  and so wasn't being broadcast but maybe got that wrong.

I have the address I sent them to and nothing is showing on that from me. I can't find the address I sent them from as Mycelium changes the account address everytime a transaction is made and so the address under m y account is one I've not seen. I put that into blockchain info and it shows no activity or balance on it at all.

I think you must be right that the wallet is out of sync somehow.

Without more information, i can't really do anything or help you.

I'm assuming you're using Mycelium 2.0? What happens when you go to your unspent outputs? There's nothing there?

Try to import your seed into Electrum maybe, and see if that works? ( Seed derivation between the wallets might be different but i believe it was possible to impot Mycelium seeds into Electrum, just not vice versa.)

Dear all,

Last year I bought two btw for the first time. I invested them in Ormeus, sold them and left them in my Mycellium wallet. Never looked at it again and now my balance shows zero bitcoins. Can anyone help me to get my two btw back? Should I just make a backup?
Shit I'm scared!

Kristofvdp, be a bit more specific, when you say "I bought two btw" does that mean you bought two bitcoin, then buy Ormeus coin and at some point sold them for bitcoin?

The problem you have is known and you do not have to worry too much. Sometimes Mycelium servers have problems, so you wallet can not sync properly, just click on refresh button and wait few minutes after that. If that does not help try to turn off / on your phone and also your router if you use wi-fi connection.

Did you make any backup when you install wallet, do you have seed words?

As Lucius mentioned, mycelium server can often not show the up-to-date balance.

Do you see a transaction history? If not, chances are very high that his is a synchronization issue.
You can then either try to import your seed into a different wallet or simply wait a few hours / a day.

However, if you see a transaction history, look for the most recent transaction. If it is an outgoing one, your wallet might be empty.
If it is a receiving one, check the address on a block explorer to see whether (and how much) coins it still holds.

Before resetting your wallet, make sure you have a proper backup of your seed words!

It looks like Kristofvdp is talking about Bitcoin World [BTW] and sent it to Mycelium Bitcoin wallet.
It is quite obvious that it isn't a typo since he typed "two btw" twice.

@Kristofvdp I don't know how Bitcoin World's address and private keys work but Mycelium doesn't support forks.
Try to export the private key from Mycelium and import it to a native BTW wallet, if BTC and BTW's private keys work the same way,
you should be able to recover your funds.

Also, start a new thread when asking questions.

I did not even know there was such a coin, but as far as I can see it is not listed on coinmarketcap. Only coin listed there with ticker BTW is Bitcoin White. Since value of both coins is very low, even if he fails to recover them, there is almost no damage.
