I've been wondering about what most of the people prefer - centralized or decentralized exchange? Why ?

I would prefer decentralized exchange but problem is that not yet we have seen a good decentralized exchange that can compete with the existing centralized exchanges we have. And I am not sure how we can improve it. I hope some day someone will figure it out.
Obviously, I personally will not like to depend on a centralized system. This is the whole concept of Bitcoin.
Yeah, I am familiar with the problems about DEX but I think it is more safety and it is better to use it because the user has full control of their assets, no user information or details required, fully transparent etc. Anyway I think it is going to be the mainstream exchange of cryptocurrencies in the future.
