0 confirmations 12+ hours later

Sent .25 yesterday evening around 9p.m.

Saw didn't confirm this morning, so restored a backed up wallet.dat, 0.25 was in wallet, and resent.  
Any idea why this refuses to confirm ?

This was a fairly low priority transaction sent without a fee.  It will probably confirm sometime today.  Transactions should include a 0.0001 BTC mining fee to ensure timely confirmation. 

Did you use the Blockchain.info app for iOS by any chance?

It didn't ask me to send a fee, and noticed in options fee is set at 0.00000000 .

Change that setting to 0.0001 BTC and you'll find that you be far less likely to have this problem of transactions not confirming.

MEanwhile, it looks like the transaction finally got confirmed this past hour.
