I beg to differ on some of those accounts. I don’t know what bounties managed and run outside of the forum look like, but as to those managed and run within:
- Some bounty managers look after their reputation, and therefore do their best to represent campaigns, which seem decent enough. Nevertheless, many bounty manager create accounts to run a Campaign, without baring any clear prior experience not having a ranked account.
Looking over the first page of Bounties right now, half of the campaigns are run by accounts that are either Newbie (Copper) Members or Jr. Members.
- Campaign payment is very often at the end of the campaign/ICO, and in their token. There are some that pay in BTC, but those are scarce.
- Posting quality is not a concert in general, and although it should be. That is only a common denominator of the best paid campaigns (generally in BTC).
- Bounties are normally tied to an ICO, and therefore last thoroughout.
The real difference between campaigns, as I see it, is between those that pay in BTC and those that pay in Tokens.
When a campaign pays in BTC:
- They have put something costly at stake (BTC).
- They tend to be represented by renowned experienced manager.
- The managers are selective of their participants (screening process).
- Posting quality is often supervised.
- Payment is frequent (weekly, every two weeks or so, etc.).
- There is a fair share of competition to get into those campaigns.
When a campaign pays in Tokens:
- They haven’t put something costly at stake (Tokens).
- Managers can be experienced, but the majority are run by beginners.
- The managers barely screen candidates, it at all.
- Posting quality is overlooked in general, and quantity is what counts for visibility.
- Payment is often at end of campaign.
- It is not too difficult to get into those campaigns (a bit tougher for the higher ranks if there is a limit of vacancies).
The above is not a paramount maximum, but rather an assessable general impression. While the former (BTC Campaings) represent a sure thing, the latter (Token Campaigns) are a roll of a dice.
