The basic premise is that religion is an evolved mechanism in humans that helped us survive.

Bending reality increases a person's happiness which increases one's performance overall, longer life span, better social connections, etc.
This was particularly important before the industrial revolution when everyone was poor, disease was rampant, and it was often difficult to survive.

But one of the side effects of bending reality is that it also leads to poor behavior by basing one's actions on a false reality.

Evolution-X is an attempt to bend reality for the positive while avoiding the negative side effects.

Sounds very buddhistic to me. I go along with the basic premis that religion is an evolved (and evolving) mechanism to support group survival. Though I wouldn't want to delude myself into thinking all is well and there is no evil. I would rather confront evil without any blinders on.
