What do you think is the most surprising thing in the History of Bitcoin?

I think what surprises me the most about bitcoin is the way it gave rise to thousands of other cryptocurrencies, the bitcoin was number one and with time it's growth and development gave ruse and birth to over 3000 other alternative coins.

3000+ shitcoins you mean lol. Actually the bitcoin we know never had in mind to produce such low alternative coins like most of them we have today. These coins and mostly tokens came into existence due to their greed (selfish interest) and scam intentions. I wasn't surprised of so many (wanna be bitcoin) coins/tokens coming into existence to feed off bitcoin's hype but I'm surprised people were fooled enough to fall victim on several  occasions to their scam.

I am less surprised by history but more surprised by present. Despite of all the facts and technological excellence we still have bunch of fools (no idea,how many exists ) that are still unaware of its worth and keep spitting venom against it.
