Not sure about the service because I have no idea about the points you are talking about however I am very sure that it's not ban worthy. Whoever it was, they gave you wrong information.

The only thing that would lead to a ban for a marketplace seller is if you're selling illegal goods and hacked account. So selling Stackoverflow points shouldn't make your Bitcointalk account banned. I'm aware that selling points is probably against Stackoverflow's ToS but I don't think it would cause a problem here.

They are probably telling you that you are going to be banned from Stackoverflow, not from this forum.

Nobody will care as long as you don't sell stolen/illegal stuff here.

*by "illegal" I mean worldwide illegal, not stackoverflow illegal.(drugs, CP etc.)

It's just like selling Facebook likes or reddit upvotes here.
I have seen such services being offered in the marketplace over and over again i haven't seen anyone get banned or tagged for it because it doesn't affect the forum members in any way so long as you don't scam anybody.

Surely you will not get banned from this forum for selling stakeoverflow points, but no one can guarantee that you won't get any negative rating for that. That depends how a forum member accepts your service whether negatively or neutral.

Telling this on the basis that I have seen one case earlier today, someone tried to buy Reddit upvote and got a negative trust from DT and someone who is selling Reddit upvotes haven't got tagged.
