Introduction
The Purple Protocol is a new and advanced blockchain system that has the theoretical capability of processing an exponentially larger volume of transactions per second than any other blockchain system. The Bitcoin protocol, which is the first and only true decentralized solution until now, can only handle around 10-20 transactions per second, maximum. Other solutions to this problem solve the transaction throughput but centralize the network (Proof of Stake or any other of its variants). Purple on the other hand can process at least a few thousand transactions per second while maintaining the decentralized nature of the network, something which has been deemed to be impossible until now.

What we are looking for
We started by prototyping the logic in Elixir/Erlang and we are now moving all of the code to Rust and as such we are now looking to expand our core development team. What we are looking for are candidates which have several or all of the following:

- Production experience using either Rust, C or C++.
- Experience developing compilers.
- Experience developing virtual machines.
- Experience developing cryptographic systems.
- Experience developing and deploying blockchain systems.
- Experience developing and deploying distributed systems.
- Experience implementing fast, low-level algorithms and data-structures.
- Experience developing open source software.
- Experience working on a remote and culturally diverse team.

At the same time, these things would be really nice but are not fundamentally important:
- A doctorate degree in computer science.
- Strong experience with both functional and object oriented programming.
- Ability to write and/or speak fluent and correct english (in order to write documentation and hold presentations).

The state of the project
We are now around 2 to 3 months away from the first test-net.

Disclosure: The project's development at this point is fully self-funded and as such we do not guarantee any salary along with the core developer’s given share of tokens. If we find funding, all core developers will be supported but we do not guarantee this and as such all core developers must be able to sustain themselves.
