I will not get mad. It is his in the first place. Why should I prevent anyone from selling his possession, something he has rights and control over? He has the sole discretion over it. But I will be sad of course. Because that would mean that he is not thinking of the welfare of his creation. That will give a very huge, even fatal, crash to the price of Bitcoin.

Nope. It would finally put any doubts to bed but I don't believe it will ever happen. The idea of someone like Satoshi handing over his wee driving licence to sign up to Coinbase is about as likely as Donald Trump organising a photo shoot with him wearing a nappy and playfully wrestling leathermen in mountains of bubbles.
Would be interesting to see such Donald Trump, I'll die in laugh.
It will be interesting to know which "satoshi" do you mean guys? There was one person claiming he owns those 1 million bitcoins and will sell them to fall price. But at the same time maybe it will be a good idea to ask troll Mcafee who is satoshi because as he claims, he knows it but he doesn't respond to that person who claims he owns one million bitcoin.
Now let's return to reality, coin was created by satoshi, this is the crypto world which he created and the product of what we become.

I hope they do.  Cool

Totally Agree, a little market shakeup would be fun.   Smiley
And we should expect a straight crash of the market if that will be going to happen.
That would be fun to look at the price plummet quickly than we ever expected. Smiley
Anyway, it is his coins and we can't do anything if he wants to sell everything.

it would definitely not be fun, it would be a reckless and irresponsible attitude, even if the bitcoins belong to him and he has the right to do whatever he wants with his coins, he would still have to have the good sense not to disturb the market. he must sell without disturbing the market. that would be right attitude!

The minute those coins start moving he has tons and I mean TONS of governments looking into every single transaction and trying to find out who he is.

all the secret agencies will be spying on him if that day comes

Never. I'll never be mad if satoshi were to sell his possession to another. Why would I be mad? After all, its his in the first place so there's nothing to worry about. I always say life is about choices. You decide what you want to do with your possession and property.

While I agree with you that every individual has the choice to do with his or her possession and property, it would also be better for him or her to be sensitive enough if he or she knows that his or her individual decision is going to affect big time a large global community, a vision, and a hope that is already slowly achieved. It is always best to be sensitive of one's free action or decision especially if he or she knows that it could make a great success turn into dust at an instant.

And I think Satoshi is all too aware of this. He would never commit such mistake. Some of us might be happy because they think that such a drastic action would pull Bitcoin's value down and they could buy a lot of it at a cheaper price. But we can never be sure if Bitcoin will still be able to rise again given that the founder himself has already seemed to abandon ship.

I wouldn't be. The price would have face a considerable decrease in short term, but in long term that means that there would be more circulating supply and apart from that, the amounts between the holders would be more decentralized and not centralized to one person.

Can't agree anymore with you on this. Those $10 billion worth of coins are his, and he can do whatever he want with those coins. We should not complain about it too much. If not for his invention (Bitcoin), we would have never got an opportunity to earn all the wealth during the past few years. Many of the users here got rich by investing in Bitcoins and many others got considerable amount of money by participating in the bounty campaigns and airdrops. Now we can't be ungrateful to Satoshi.

I would be a little scared if the founder of Bitcoin sold everything at once without living himself anything. To me that would be a sign that somebody hacked his address somehow and it is not the real Satoshi selling.

If you were Satoshi and had access to all his coins would you sell everything at once and crash the price when you could get more profit by selling slow?

While I'd prefer the coins to not be dumped in one go but instead in increments(as to not dramatically flash crash the market), why should we stop Satoshi? It's his coins, from his own creation. He/she/they have every right to dump every single one of the bitcoins if Satoshi wants to. It's a free and open market.

I hope they do.  Cool
Convince him then. Best of luck.

Exactly. It will affect the price of Bitcoin for short term but it will recover. I think we should just do whatever Satoshi Nakamoto want as long as he has the rights. Look at the owner of Litecoin, he dumped all of his coin and still Litecoin is still at a good price. But I doubt it will happen.

I would crash the market and fuck all of you in the ass. Then laugh at all you morons who could not understand the first sentence of the white paper.

In fact, satoshi could crash the entire market 4 or 5 times to 0 at the current volume.

Well Craig Wright says he is gonna dump 1.1 million BTC on about Jan 1st, 2020 when he gets access to the 'tulip trust' of (likely) hal finney and dave klieman (see court case)

https://www.ccn.com/opinion/bitcoin-ponzi-scheme-craig-wright/2019/08/02/

so 1.1 million x current $11,000 = 12,100,000,000 usd. (12.1 Billion Dollars) of which he claims he will pay taxes on.

So would ANY exchange survive a 12.1 Billion dollar dump all in the same day? Indeed would not the price go down to under $1,000 or more?

As impossible as it is that BTC has gone as far as it has in 10 years, IMHO, if it did 'blow up' and go beanie baby and tulips, this probably would be the kinda thing on how it would go

We have freedom on what we would like to do with our investments or money, so if satoshi will decide to sell all his/her coins right now then it's up to him/her.

I wouldn't mind at all, but if in case it can change the movement of the price like the price will drop to it's lowest because of this reason then there is a big chance that many will blame satoshi of his/her actions.

In some way maybe someone will blame him but to those who able to recognized what he did and what he deserved, why bothered to hate him instead of thanking him and allow him to enjoy the benefits of all those works he did for this industry, people mostly forget the recognitions of those important people when it's already dealing with money, but if thinking clearly he's also just another believers that deserves to enjoy the profits of holding.

Yes .  im with you  . i will exclude satoshi on my hate list because he is the creator of bitcoins but others arent exempted because they are obvious that they are only manipulating the price once they sell or buy in a huge manner   . and i think saotshi will not sell all his coins because he already have some cash physically but instead he will only use some btc for testing purposes  .

LOL... do you really believe any of this? We have been asking Craig Wright to prove that he is Satoshi for more than a year now. This guy has refused to do that, and on top of that he slapped lawsuits over those who rubbished his claim. If I am not wrong, even the court asked him to prove the ownership of his coins. He is just doing delaying tactics now. If he has the private keys for those coins, then he should move them right now, and not in 2020.

Naw, I don't really believe it. But if there was a way for Bitcoin to go beanie baby with a bang, it would be something 'unexpected' like this at an 'epic' level.

Of course, also, consider the 'premise' of this thread. My post follows that logic to an ugly extreme I admit. Sad Not like I promote this on anything but this what if thread. Smiley

I won't be mad to him, but maybe I will be sad because I am not already making much bitcoin to follows him to sell bitcoin. It's up to him to sell all of his bitcoin because we don't know who is he, and where he lives. We could only shock to see the big amount of bitcoin has been sold in the market, and the other amount is waiting to get filled. But I don't think that he will sell all of his bitcoin in one-time selling because that will attract many exchanges to suspicious. And maybe all exchanges will try to investigate all of their member's accounts especially for the account who has huge bitcoin inside the wallet.

if they sold all their holdings in short time, then the true believers could buy at low, low prices.
The non believers would panic and sell, and in 2 years would moan how they didn't buy at low, low prices
