The biggest social network company Facebook has registered a new firm dealing with blockchain and payments in Geneva, according to popular news outlet Reuters. The Swiss fintech company is reported to be focused on data analytics and investments in particular.

On May 2, Libra Networks was officially registered in Geneva, with Facebook Global Holdings as its owner. The newly-created firm aims at providing financial services and developing related hardware and software. The fintech move obviously shows Facebook’s determination to become a leader on the blockchain and payments market as well.

This also shows Facebook is moving away from US and avoiding the so called close allies of it.
US has been acting hypocritically and against anything related to privacy, decentralization and open market.
This would indeed be a positive move for Facebook as well as whole of the crypto sphere.
I hope Facebook's coin too would one day be openly tradable in exchanges along with other cryptos.

I think Microsoft already into Blockchain technology. They started implementing the use of Blockchain technology late 2018/early 2019.
We might just be waiting for the big game changer "Google" to do the same.

I think it's easier for any of these giants to buy a ready-made project with a team and just remake it for their needs.
