I'm noticing huge swings in difficulty mining Zcash on a minute by minute basis. A miner will be getting $5 a day one minute and then $10 a day the next minute. A few weeks ago difficulty was high but steady.

Can anybody explain it?

Yes I know Zcash is a shitcoin.  Roll Eyes

Yes I know the Z11's are coming online.  Roll Eyes

Yes I know price is fluctuating as well as market cap.  Roll Eyes

But none of that explains the minute-by-minute swings in profitability. I only mine Zcash. Is it happening with other coins as well?

it looks like as if mining rigs or unannounced crazy asics are automated to start mining after zcash hits a threshold price or above
i saw the price chart of zcash and it has kind of similar graph going on like the difficulty one

Thank you. That totally makes sense and is the only possibility I could comprehend.

I would like to use that automated software my self.  Smiley
