I know that protecting your data means attacking the insider threat problem from two angles: technology and people. On the technology front, the first step is to make sure you’re properly staffed. ... How people can be sure what’s going on with their data at all times? Regardless of great policies and people, your data will still be at risk, so it is imperative to align tools with your policies. When selecting data security tools, it’s critical to ensure these tools will work seamlessly with the needs of the business. What tools do you use on regular basis?

Since just for personal use, my machine should be protected by anti-virus and will just use a secured and private connection. Any third party network security will do but not necessary. But for business, it's a must.

For important accounts, safe browsing, 2FA, setting up a difficult password, etc.

Bottom line: Common Sense and self-knowledge.

What are you trying to picture out here? Looking for recommendations?

^^ This one. 2FA, having a strong password or used a password manager so you won't get phished. Common sense, not clicking anything any link in your email or website you visited.

And with the way crypto price is going right now, there will be a lot of cyber criminals stepping up their activity so we need to be very careful at the same time and be watchful for any danger coming our way.

I think OP you should also need to visit Beginners & Help board to learn more how to protect yourself against cyber criminals, there are tons of tips you can find on that board.
