Hi,

What is the usual number of peers the client is connected to ?
And how to find out the more stable peers in the network ?

Thanks in advance

If you are behind a router using NAT or a firewall that prevents incoming connections, you will be limited to eight peer connections. If you are directly connected to the Internet (your computer has a real IP address) or properly set up port forwarding in your network, you will probably have forty or more.

Bitcoin finds peers for itself, and then the peers find you.
