Should we care about Boris Johnson squeezing a journalist's leg?

First off - it happened over 20 years ago, so why drag it up now, it obviously wasn't important at the time? Secondly, I'd rather have red blooded politicians in charge, instead of the deceitful dish rags we seem to get most of the time.

I shudder to think of the number of female legs that I have squeezed in my life, and nobody seems to care about that. So what do you think? The English squeeze legs, and the Americans grab "pussy" ( allegedly ), should we care about either?

If it's a consensual squeeze like your "nobody seems to care about that" (I assume that's what it means) then maybe not but otherwise - yes, we should care about that. Sexual harassment is not a joke. Contrary to what some men think, women generally don't enjoy that kind of attitude and used to tolerate it only because it's been the way things are for a long time.

I agree with you. Sexual harassment is a despicable act. Whatever its form, it cannot be tolerated. However ...

In this case, it was a scandal that happened in the past. Something very strange when the case was raised again after so long. I think this is only one of the "dirty" way to bring down Boris Johnson.

It's annoying seeing that kind of thing. this is not the first time, I have seen many of these practices on the political stage. The "scene" where one parties always brings up the past mistakes of other parties, and it doesn't even have anything to do with the current political situation. All that is just an attempt to bring down an opponent.

Maybe. But you can't dismiss it just because it happened so long ago. It was a different time, we cared less about it then, we're trying to care more about it now. There are ways to verify these things, such as contemporaneous accounts. And as far as I can see Mr. Johnson doesn't really need dirt to be brought down, he's doing that just fine on his own but I'm not that well-versed in British politics so I apologize if I missed some nuance here.

The question is not whether we should care whether he did it or not but why are these "past" digging happening more often now. And most of the time they can't even prove their allegations but that's usually enough to destroy men's reputation. It's like retroactive #metoo witchhunt.

Remember it's not just gonna affect public figures, it's gonna affect everyone. You could lose a career or family over this.
