Block.One ditching EOS?

In June of last year, Voice, Block.one’s long-awaited social media application, was announced to be an EOS application to much fanfare with Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer stating that the platform’s immutable nature brings transparency and fairness to social media. Yet, with the launch date of February 14 now fast approaching, a strong turn around has happened.

Voice is intended to be a significant step in the evolution of social media, bringing with it amenable facets of blockchain technology that would suit a world that is growing more suspicious of traditional social media. However, it appears as if Block.One doubts its own platform to launch such a significant challenger.

Oh well, it looks like they've changed their mind running on EOS after all....

It would be a big blow for EOS fans and coin holders out there, as Block.One turns out to "ditch" them once and for all. It claimed that EOS is "under pressure" in their blockchain network, which maybe one of the reasons for Block.One to turn against them.

What are your reactions or opinion about Block.One turning against EOS? Do you think they were right? Or should they regret about ditching them for good?

I can understand why they did it, no one wants a compromised platform. But the real question is, what platform will they choose next, because that bump in the price would be nice to catch on whatever coin they choose. Any ideas? Earnbet took the wax blockchain, but would that be compatible with block.one plans?

Maybe it will be disappointing to EOS support, because when block.one team was announced that they are going to launch block.one social platform under EOS it has very exciting news for all EOS supports. but now block.one team has taken a u-turn before going to launch it can impact the EOS price upcoming days. Now We all have a big question about block.one next choose?

Who knows because of the EOS platform that can't be as interesting as the ETH, TRX and XLM platforms commonly used by developers to develop their projects.
Block.One also still has rivals if Libra is right in the launch this year. They may retreat before launching so as not to be depressed on rival projects.

It must be on EOSIO right now but it's still on the testnet. Just wanna know about the reaction from EOS supporters.
Block.one priced its EOS blockchain 4 billions worth of money and then it cant be used to build a big-scale platform. I guess you should read FAQ of voice too and it has already mentioned.

While Voice is in beta and a highly iterative state, it will be run on a purpose-made EOSIO blockchain. In time, we would like Voice to leverage the EOS Public Blockchain, and potentially others that can meet the performance and governance demands of Voice

I'm not sure whether Larimer had anything to do with it.

But Dan Larimer has had a track record of developing (pretty good) projects and then later on ditching it in order to focus on a new project. Because of that, really nothing has been exceedingly well made, in terms of his previous creations of Steem (which just got out of Beta last year IIRC) and BTS, despite them being all usable platforms.

So yeah, don't expect too much. There are always downsides to these companies.

I think the main issue that is coming on the EOS blockchain is CPU. Before some days, I was doing transactions from EOS but not able to do because of CPU, and also, I staked EOS but not yet ready to do a transaction, and even other users facing CPU issues. I suggest Block.one should launch VOICE social media app on ETH blockchain instead of EOS.

To my knowledge,,, people had always been criticizing Block One anyway even from the start. And then when we hear all the hype about the new social media with all those fancy new words, who wants to go on board another Facebook? All the new social media apps did not work out why should another centralized one win?
