Basically this upgrade may spike a good momentum in the breaking of the over due silent Bitcoin has kept the altcoins since it superb dorminance. With this ETH 2.0 many issues which has been slowing the project down will be address. With this my hope of the altcoins coming back to live is visible come 2020.

ETH 2.0 could be the catalyst that we all have been waiting for. It is rescheduled 2020, and prior to the bitcoin block halvening. So there's a chance that before that to happen, ETH will also surge and the timing is going to be perfect for the altcoin market as well to make a bull run coincide with the Bitcoin as well. Although the move is also critical and controversial, (moving to POS consensus), I think this could be the only thing that Vitalik could do at this point 're-create' ETH itself. And after 4 years in the making, it is long overdue, IMHO.

yes maybe this is late, but that does not mean there is no chance anymore. when the POS Consensus has been released later, ethereum will definitely rise. good news The devs ethereum team has given a deadline until early next year. so there is no reason for another delay.

It should be a banger, otherwise, ETH will not be able to stay on the second spot. The coin is dying and I hope that ETH 2.0 will push ETH forward and bring him back to prices of late 2017. I remember times when ETH supposed to be on top...

As Buterin said, Ethereum 2.0 aims to run ‘tens of thousands of transactions per second’ and he is sure that the new network will facilitate a number of on-chain transactions while maintaining key aspects of decentralization and security.

At the beginning of next year, the launch of the initial phase of Ethereum 2.0 is taking place. On Tuesday, during the 80,000 hours podcast devoted to solving the most pressing problems in the world of cryptos, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin delivered a speech in which he commented on this event and shared his ambitious plans for Ethereum.

According to Buterin, he is ‘very confident’ about the launching phase of Ethereum 2.0, however, he is not sure about the incentives that make people use blockchain.

Is this enough to say that we may see ETH 2.0 the catalyst for the this altcoin to finally break and have its own path in 2020 regardless of the so called bitcoin block halving?

We all know that there are competitions already that's why ETH is losing so much value in this market. But I think with this news we could very well see it relieving its former glory.

Do you agree?

I am very glad to hear such words about the new features of ethereum associated with the planned improvements to this coin, which Buterin recently expressed. I noticed that he does not like to brag and if he says something, he says real things. Ethereum is now very important to increase its scalability, because this network is very heavily congested. Of course, I would like to see not tens, but hundreds of thousands of transactions per second on the ethereum network. However, tens of thousands of transactions compared to the current fifteen transactions, this is already good.

Proof of Stake coming to Ethereum is an exciting happening, that's for sure.
Very interested to see when and how it will play out.

Vitalik Buterin has a great plan to create a whole-world computer -Ethereum 2. Certainly, he should show confidence, and we see it. Ethereum 2. is supposed to be a decentralized blockchain platform that supports thousands of transactions per second and their processing is cheap and does not require huge energy costs, as it happens now during mining using the Proof-of-Work algorithm.

From what I observe, he is very confident in term of Investment. Yes, Proof of Stake is our future because of its effectiveness and efficiency. But just that, ETH does not improve that much and only moves its consensus into PoS. Even though its transaction speed is faster compared to before, but we can not deny the fact that ETH is getting outdated.
we need advanced technology such as a quantum computer, to increase its usability and performance by a large margin.

I am also confident about the future of Eth network, i have been a long term hodler and supporter of eth and im sure if we buy and hold decent amount of eth now then next couple of years will prove really fruitful for us personally i have set a target in mind and im sure the patience with eth will pay me big time in coming months.

The launch of the Ethereum 2.0 platform will cement the future of Ethereum, with some of the VCs now openly criticizing the direction the project is taking this add more pressure on the project. Although I believe it now has better chance of success but they need to stop throwing fancy ideas around and deliver

Ethereum though second crypto in terms of market cap has not been doing equally well in terms of it's price. Any measure that would help to boost the price of ethereum would be highly welcome and I think the expected launch of ethereum 2.0 could be such a measure

Ethereum has been aiming for scalability and I think this might set the path to it if properly done.  Also, with this step Ethereum is proving once more that it is the top altcoin and will have the higher chance of growing in price sooner than later. Also, taking a look at what Ethereum team aims to achieve, one will see that it is a good one as only few projects has ever embarked on it which are hardly heard of, thereby with Ethereum succeeding will pave the way for most projects which aims to be based on Proof-of-Stake.
