[WARNING] Very popular Gaming YT Channel hacked and renamed to "Coinbase Pro"

What happened: Very popular gaming YouTube channel Neebs Gaming (1.9 million subscribers) has been hacked yesterday and renamed to Coinbase Pro. Scammers will probably try to use it for one of those fake giveaways. Hopefully  situation will be resolved soon, until then be safe and trust no one!

Yep, we didn't have to wait for long for this scam giveaway video. Worst thing about this is that this is very popular and active YouTube channel, and bunch of people will see it. I hope more people see this, as more people report it, the faster will be YouTube reaction.

Probably some stupid phishing scam to steal login details.

Recently many YouTube channels have been hacked. The purpose of hackers is to scam people by fooling them with fake giveaway videos. Having more subscribers can scam more people. So they hack the channels that have more subscribers, active and popular channels. This channel is popular so more people can be scammed until you youtube delete the video.

I have always thought that gamers are sharp people and can't fall for such giveaways... I guess i was wrong. Some humans will always be very greedy. Also, after spending all those years and getting such numerous followers, how careless can one be to appoint of getting their credentials stolen by hackers let alone not having their Google account protected by 2FA.

Still, amazed how these type of scams go and have lots of victims and how these people behind keep thinking that they will receive 1 - 100 btc when they send .1 btc geez. I'm sure those guys are not that newbie in crypto because they manage to get 0.1 btc, while there are a lot of the same reported issues a few days/weeks/months ago and how scam giveaway is popular on popular social media websites. Still, people don't learn and keep believing in this.

Yeah, definitely these are people who are not totally newbies in the crypto sphere if they can own some BTC and send it to a scammer's address as soon as the fake giveaway comes online. It all just comes to greed and total stupidity of some people.

Just because there are transactions to that address it doesn't mean there were sent by people believing in the scam.
Actually I'm more inclined to think almost all are fake transactions to fool people into believing it is real.

What made me really suspicious was the fee, it's almost impossible that all the victims pay almost the same fee per byte.
Then when I start checking the addresses from which the funds came to 1H8Ayqrnz1LYzNT4UvPsjugZdiY5udpqxx I saw that all the addresses had activity in the same day being funded barely hours before the tx.

Seems like usual scam goes like this: scammers contact YouTube creators, offering them to sponsor their software. YouTubers  then download and install that software, without checking it first, and of course it is affected with some malware.
There are probably more ways, but i heard that's the most common trick, and yes, they should definitely be more careful since they invested years in those channels, and it is a shame to loose it that way.

Update:
Neebs Gaming got their channel back after less than a week of waiting, so I am gonna lock this topic. I just hope that they and the  other YouTube channels  affected will be more careful in the future and not fall for cheap tricks like fake sponsors and malware affected software.
