Money makes people do the craziest things so i am not surprised by this and even if scammers come across this news it won't make them think twice, crime pays for real but karma will always come around, they deserve to be jailed for a very long time, scammers are heartless beings

There was NO phishing scam.
Only a clickbait stupid title.

Main article:
Raid on Chinese-manned firm exposes cryptocurrency scam
Quote
MANILA, Philipppines — Local authorities — acting on a tip from the Chinese government — have uncovered what could be a growing online investment scam hiding behind a fledgling industry based in one of the country’s special economic zones.
This was after government agents last week arrested 277 Chinese nationals during a raid in Pasig City on suspicion of using cryptocurrency operations to dupe unsuspecting would-be investors back in China

So it is highly possible that many of those arrested might be innocent after all, not all the ones working for Madoff were scammers also.
I'm sure 90% of them were simply involved in calling or email or whatever possible "investors" without a clue about what's going on.

But...
Nobody is talking about the numbers?Huh
277!!!!
Our busses can carry 92 people, you need 3 full packed busses to carry all those guys to the police station!
What the hell?
How didn't this trigger any suspicions, 300 employees from Italy working alone for a company located in Hungary would instantly raise suspicions here and we're in the EU, free movement all that bs. You have a floor packed with foreigners working for an "investment" company and you need a tip from China to react?

The scammers are choosing Philippines as place to scam investors because people here are easy to get scammed because of lack of knowledge and the want to get profit in a quick way.Well at least they got arrested but I believe that more scams like this will occur in the future. What Philippinian Bros need is a seminar about cryptocurrency or even the basics of Bitcoin and how not to get scammed by these scammers.

They were actually scamming Chinese people, not Filipinos.  Grin

@stompix indeed the title is click bait and it seems people do not even read the article properly, they only read the headlines and then post it here. There’s no conclusive proof available to say those employees didn’t knew what they were getting into, and now it doesn’t matter since they’re being deported to China and most likely they will be tried under the Chinese law. As for your question why did no one suspect them earlier, it could be because they had bribed the local officials, and since they were targeting Chinese people the local authorities never felt the need to be suspicious about them.

This is better, they are arrested. In many case, bad peoples still not arrested. I think most of their victim is newbie or people who want to get more additional income

Avoid
1. mallware download
Sometimes this is not easy to recognized

2. Phising
It can recognized more easy and if user read carefully about it

3. Fliping scams / double money / HYIP / Pyramid Scheme
No one want to double money other peoples. Do you want to double my BTC? Most of people now know about it

4. Fake exchange
At first, they appear as not fake exchange but shit exchange. Sometimes shitexchange add small coin and shit coin. most of them also fake their volume. What they steal from users?
1. KYC Data
2. Email and password

Honestly speaking, I have never encountered a phishing attack. Even if I would have then I am quite sure I would have figured it out that it was a phishing site.
I do keep reading the news to find out that so many people get scammed by phishing sites. Either the people must be really dumb or the scammer must have developed the phishing really well.
Anyway, it's good to know that somewhere in the world, people are actually doing their jobs well and catching these scammers and punishing them for the same.
It's always good to find out that bad people get punished for what they have done.
I think people who got tricked by those phishing sites either no knowledge about of the computer or they were too careless in taking a safety precaution when logging in their personal account. There are more advanced safety precaution already that the sites offered to these people yet they don't bother to apply it.

The more that cryptocurrency gets awareness, I believe that the more the days of scammer will be numbered, because then, government would have to protect their citizens so that the number of people going bankruptcy in their country will not increase because cryptocurrency theft really has a way of making people go bankruptcy.

Since we have many people that have never in their life listen to advise never to invest money that they cannot afford to lose, that is when you see someone really investing all his life savings in the project which I count as out of greed and was never out of luv to support the project. Government now will see the reason why they should get involved in bitcoin and regulate it, one there is regulation, there will be more of these arrests.

It (maybe) were just surprised that we are already scam. Not intentionally we want it to happen but because we think that is the correct site or it similar to look at. Not only noobs been a victim to this but all of us are subject into this. Scammers are too smart to think at this time, they actually developing their strategy also for them not easily caught by the public.
