Hello everyone.
I am preparing my announcement thread and wanted to include gif in it but unfortunately it is not going well. And  the message "bitcointalk.org image proxy Invalid image" comes up. I ain't having any trouble with images tho. Could anyone explain me what I am doing wrong? i have seen gif files in other ANNs which means it's possible but don't know why i can't do it.

It probably because of the gif image size, there is a maximum size that can be posted in the forum(i don't remember the exact value thou)
Would you mind showing us the gif link sample you want to post?

Edit:
Just remembered, the size of the gif image should not be more than 2.5mb

You should include the image code inside of this code:

Code:
[img].....png or .jpg[/img]

If your image url doesn't contain .png or .jpg fromat then it will show invalid image as well.

It’s most likely the gif size, which, as stated by @Bitcoin_Arena, should be 2.5 mb tops. Note that we are talking about file size here, and not the size of the representation on screen.

Maybe your Gif was large in size. see this which is said by theymos

Images must be less than 1.5MB. Resize or compress your image.

Another link that can also help you

1.5 does really suck, 2.5 would be perfect

OK, I increased it to 2.5.

Eitherway man the proxy thing is annoying...  Undecided
