I apologize for my English - google translate
Have a problem. OS - Wndows 8.1.

Electrum 3.3.6, on it I installed and named a separate wallet to receive and issue addresses 3..... after updating to 3.3.8 the file disappeared. I searched in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets there empty. Seed is lost. did not make backups. I remember the password, of course, but it makes no sense because I can’t enter my old wallet. I can not find this file. I'm desperate. I tried to use Recuva to recover deleted files, but it does not find this file in deleted ones. I don’t restart the computer so that the RAM is not cleared, maybe this will somehow help in solving my problem. Before that, I updated the wallet and I do not remember that there was such a problem. Please tell me how to solve my problem and is it even possible. Thank you very much in advance.

Weird. Electrum does not replace or delete your wallet files if you install a new version over it.

You didn't write down your backup seed?
Are you sure you downloaded the new version of Electrum from the right website (ELECTRUM.ORG)?

I'm not sure what you could do. Try making a global search (over C:\ or any other drive)for what was the name of your wallet.

In the wallet there is an inscription about updating, through this inscription I was updated.
The wallet is about 5 years old and I was updated not for the first time, the seed was recorded 5 years ago and lost. I know what does not delete, because I did it before and everything was ok. But now such a problem has arisen. The search certainly did, but he did not give anything.
Mb i should reboot comp....

is the file under file > recently open in electrum?

I used my wallet every day. Updated yesterday, decided to upgrade because transactions with high commissions took a long time and thought that the update would help.

Somewhere I already saw this situation - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5120748.0

-----------------------
-----------------------

After upgrading to version 3.3.8, when you first launched the wallet - what did you see - a window asking you to enter a password, or a proposal to create a new wallet?

This?

or that?

Unfortunately, the solutions by reference did not help.

proposal to create a new wallet. maybe the problem arose because before that I used and updated the portable version and this time installed through the Windows Installer. I used to update an empty wallet. and for the first time decided to update in a hurry non-empty.

Portable version or Standalone Executable? This is important because the Portable version creates a wallet file NOT in the default directory (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets), they creates a wallet file in the same directory from which the portable file is launched, in a folder called "electrum_data".

Definitely sounds like the "portable" version was used originally.

In that case, you need to look where you had the portable.exe file... in that location you should find the "electrum_data" folder as mentioned by IeSua:

and in that folder you should see "wallets":

Once you find that... you can then either copy the wallet file from there to your "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets" folder or you can just use the "File -> Open" option in your installed 3.3.8 version of Electrum to navigate to the wallet file in the portable "electrum_data" folder

Seed is lost. did not make backups.
The last 2 posts above will solve your issue if you haven't deleted the Electrum portable's directory.

But after that, make sure to create a proper backup this time.
Turn off your internet connection, Click Wallet->SEED->Enter your password, copy the 12-word seed phrase to a piece of paper.
Keep it somewhere safe.
